Great reception everywhere I have went so far. Even when the phone shows one bar, the quality is great, and even at zero bars, EVDO holds up. Quite surprised. Works well in arillaga gym, basement of CERAS, and everywhere in EV and Governor's Corner as far as my experience. Have not tested in lower levels of Green yet. With roaming (free on many plans) verizons network is available if needed. Very useful!

T-Mobile has nothing outside of white plaza in stanford campus, find another service if you live on campus.

Every day service cuts off as I travel towards Stanford on Foothill as I'm nearing Arastradero. Unbelievably reliable service here. Page Mill is also bad. The area around Stanford here is extremely spooty coverage and I can expect my calls to be dropped every day. Pathetic.

No reception beyond a few feet from windows. Even within those few feet, most of the time the phone will ring but you can't carry on a conversation.

Very strong GSM reception around the Stanford Medical Center, mainly due to the hospital's contract with Cingular / AT&T. My old Sprint phone would die when I was 10 feet from the window, but my TMobile and Cingular phones have a strong signal into the stairwells, basement, and inside refrigerated rooms. Signal drops to nil once on campus or near the residence halls.

Verizon's reception on campus has always been iffy, but up until about six months ago, you could make and receive calls with much higher probability. I often got a signal that indicated "extended network" which means they had an agreement with other carriers. They must have dropped those agreements, since I now have zero reception in Building 120 (McClatchy Hall). When I inquire about this, however, no one at Verizon will admit anything.

Get good reception (3-5 bars) everywhere except for the basement of Gates and, mysteriously, the dining hall in FloMo. Have had ~1 call drop in 1.5 years. Reception seemed better before merger of AT&T with Cingular (I originally signed up with AT&T), but it's still pretty good.

Recently relocated to Stanford area. Verizon Wireless does not have coverage on campus--cannot make calls, do not receive incoming calls, and do not dependably receive voicemail. All calls made even when there are two bars are dropped or incomplete (one party cannot hear the other). Talked to a Verizon Wireless store manager on University Avenue--he even suggested to go to Cingular if I needed to use the cell phone in Palo Alto. When a store manager of Verizon tells you to go to Cingular, you know it is a bad situation with Verizon in this area.

Awesome reception on campus, and in Palo Alto. Have not had a problem with reception anywhere in the Bay that I've been to -- Cupertino, SF, Mountain View, Redwood City, Oakland. Great reception. Highly recommended.
