My service is great! I always have a good data speed and great service. My buddys iPhone drops calls all the time. He dropped a call next to the Apple building... HAHA! Verizon is the best!

I have a verizon / wireless contract and moved to this location about a month ago. Right away I noticed very poor reception with >90% of the calls dropped inside my apartment. I called Verizon and they said they would investigate. A few days later they left a message in my mail box saying that there was nothing they could do about the problem; they mentioned something about a military base (i could not hear the message well;-) I now assume that the "contract" is off and am looking for a plan provider that works in the 94086 (Sunnyvale, CA).

Horrible service indoors. Calls fo straight to voice mail which I don't sometimes receive till the following day when I drive to work. Spotty service inside the house - calls will drop. On my way down wolfe, crossing Old San Francisco Rd towards El Camino, the connection will always drop. I'm thinking of switching carriers, but after reading the other reviews, I think they all suck. I guess it comes down to features and cost of the plan.

Signal strength varies wildly around the community center, even standing outside in one place I have seen the signal vary between 0 bars and 4 bars. Forget about using your phone inside while it may ring it is almost impossible to receive calls. Outside is hot-or-miss, I can't even find a pattern as to what physical location is good for making and receiving calls around the community center. Just for the record: T-Mobile is worse (my former carrier), I've heard good things from those with AT&T, and my Nextel (for work) works perfectly (unfortunately :) ) in the same location.

Verizon seems to work well everywhere but my home. I get 3 to 4 bars at home, but calls get dropped all the time. I cannot maintain a conversation for more than a few minutes b4 the call is dropped. This is my second phone with Verizon service, so the phone is not the problem. When I'm away from home, Verizon is excellent - no signal problems, no dropped calls.

Whoever put the review in about this location getting 5 bars must be a Verizon spy. I have new service and RAZR V3 and only get 2 bars and lots of dropped calls. Don't believe the other review. Also, the review of Deanza and Homestead is a lie, I only can get 2 bars there too. My Dad has Sprint and it works better at both spots... ... . :-(

Lots of dropped calls and missed calls. One room gets 4 bars next room gets 1 bar. One side of room gets no service 3 feet away gets 3 bars. We had the phones reprogrammed 2X --nothing. Spent 30 minutes on phone with service guy, no improvement. Outside is also spotty but generally better reception, from 3 to 5 bars sometimes just inches away makes a difference.

I just moved to the area(Sunnyvale) and have very poor reception in my home. I have to walk out to the street to receive 2 bar reception. I connacted Verizon and they say it's on my end and that their engineers have noted that the are has good coverage. Now I'm looking for another carrier.

Reception with Verizon in the Valley seems fairly consistently average. I can make / get calls most places, even inside buildings, but do get dropped calls - perhaps 1 in 10. Largest annoyance is dialling a number and waiting up to 30sec before the call is put through - perhaps 1 in 3 times. Overall slightly better than AT&T (before the merger) which I had previously and had dropped calls perhaps 1 in 4. Overall I would rate both services as poor-average. Verizon phpne choices are miserable. Perhaps time to change again.

Very good here and elsewhere in Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Campbell, Palo Alto, etc. No dropped calls. Voice quality is almost always clear. Signal strength drops in a couple of spots along Mathilda Ave., but it's strong in most locations where I've checked so far, including inside buildings and under freeways.

Excellent reception with Verizon and this Samsung phone, whether inside or outside of my apt or work building (nearby). If Verizon would just offer better phones (like the Motorola Razor), I would NEVER consider switching wireless companies. Too bad they sell based on their service capabilities and not on the phone selection (like Sprint or Cingular).

Verizon is the best in the Bay Area.
Just signed for another 2 years. Hopefully in 2 years the competition will catch up so we have some real choices. As it stands now, the competition's reception is spotty compared to Verizon.

No service indoors. Spotty outdoors. Sometimes falls back to analog. When my phone roams onto Sprint, call quality is good. Otherwise I can't hold a call longer than a minute or two. Phone shows full signal, however. Have tried several replacement phones.
