We have only two providers that service this area successfully, Verizon and ATT / Cingular. As we are in the foothills / mountains, coverage is spotty in places. Everyone who lives here knows when they are going to lose the signal, so if in conversation we say, "I'm about to lose my signal and I will call you back in ____minutes. (It is usually 5-10.) After a big windstorm, we sometimes lose service for a day or two. Unfortunately we all have to get on the phone and report the problem to ATT and insist upon speaking with the tech. department, or we are not believed... Since we don't have much choice in service providers, we grin and bear it. It is simply part of living in the boonies...

The service is extremely spotty up here, and I haven't gotten above a single bar while in the house. I've been told that different phone manufactuer's may get better reception, so after trying the new Palm Centro out and getting horrible reception I went and got the new BlackJack II. Needless to say this one is going back to the store also.
