Never had a problem until today--2 / 11 / 11. Call was dropped. Tried to call back, 3 bars listed but wouldn't ring--"call failed" came up about 3 times as I drove around "The District" in Tustin. Had to call at home from landline. Could this be from the new iphone traffic?

Reception is perfect. Never have a dropped call. Fees are resonable when taking into account AT&Ts iPhone monthly rates. Only complaint is their selection of phones is lousy, and they do not use SIM cards so unlocked phones are not an option.

Had T-Mobile for 3 good years in La Montana before moving to the "golf course" a few months ago. I thought it was bad as I could only be on the phone in the living room, or else drops. Eveyone raves about Verizon. I ported my number, and signed up with Verizon. IT IS WORSE! There isn't a spot in my place I can speak clearly for more than 40 seconds. Got good deal at Costco, and phone is cool, but... ... .WTF?????

Slightly better than T mobile. Only bad thing about them is bad phone and high prices. Consider T mobile if you like more phone choices.

Usually at one bar but we almost always have coverage although weak at times. I'd like to know how to get one of the other carriers as Verizon is too expensive. Does T-Mobile work here? It did NOT when we had this two years ago.

I always have at least 2 bars. My phone never goes down to "no signal" in this area. Right now in my room I have full reception. My roommates have the Motorola RAZR and they always have good reception as well. It think in this area near Irvine Verizon has the best coverage, especially since their West Coast Regional Headquarters is located off of Sand Canyon in Irvine and their Irvine retail location being their flagship store. I wanted Cingular bc the have better looking phones, but what's the use of a cool phone with no reception? oh well.

Both at home, near Browning and Irvine, and at work, my Verizon service degraded significantly about three months ago. In my office I routinely had three or four bars of service. Now it's 0 or 1 bar and I have frequent dropped calls. When I first inquired about this on VZ's customer service number, they reported no problems in the area. I visited a store - same story. By the time I filed a complaint and mobilized 6 of my co-workers (with the same problem), I got a response from VZ that they'd made some changes at the towers. Service was better after that for about two weeks, and now it's back to the same dropped call problem. I've been a VZ customer for years, but I'm on the verge of going elsewhere for my service.

Verizon's poor reception area appears to be good at the corner of Irvine Blvd.and Tustin Ranch Rd but gets progressively worse / horrible by the time you get to La Colina. Reception is bad on both sides of Tustin Rach Rd.going towards Greenway (by golf course) on one side and towards Red Hill on the otehr (haven't tried beyond that). I think I'm going to switch carriers after many years of Verizon service. Any suggestions oin which carriers work best in the area? I hear Cingular is pretty good.

There is a big area bounded between Tustin Ranch Road, LaColina, and Greenway that has a very poor Verizon signal. No too far away, at the intersection of Tustin Ranch Rd.and Irvine Blvd. the cell signal is quite good. Visitors to my home, with carriers other than Verizon, seem to have acceptable service.

Reception is generally weak and dropped calls are frequent. Reception is slightly better outside the home but is still not reliable. A relative also has Verizon and seems to have better reception at my home with a Palm Treo 600 phone. I may try to switch phones to see if that helps.

I live in the Cameo Woods gated community, and outside, Verizon get reception fairly. Inside, we get about 1 or 2 bars, but the latency is HORRIBLE! We get dropped calls ALOT. It helps to stay outdoors. Verizon needs another cell site. They need to really not stop working for us.

After reading a few other posts, I realized I need to give a more accurate location. I live near the golf course and I get no bar inside the house and at best 1 bar in the backyard. Does anyone from Verizon actually reading this?

I have raved about Verizon's service for several years now since switching from AT&T when I couldn’t use my cell phone at the house in which I lived. I just moved to THIS area, and have extremely poor reception, with 99% of the calls dropping off. After two weeks of investigating (one. Customer Service called to update me on the Trouble Ticket and inadvertently admitted that the technician assigned to the case was still on vacation), I finally go a message that said that Verizon is aware of the marginal service in that area and there is no plan to improve it. My plan is to leave Verizon.

I get little to no reception on Irvine blvd from prospect all the way to the 55 freeway. If I call anyone the call is dropped, and when people call me my phone doesn't ring -- I just get a voice mail about 10 minutes after they left it. It's ridiculous! On my phone it shows anywhere from no reception to 2 bars but its usually nothing or one bar. I wish they would fix this.

Reception is good. Number of bars vary upon location inside house: usually 3+ bars, with a few deadspots here and there.
