My calls always drop and fail beginning with 2-3 bars at start of conversation. Receiving end always says I am breaking up. Microcell 3G unit seems to be the best option from ATT. Most frustrating thing - Should not have to purchase for their problem - cell phones are expensive enough!

I've never had reception since living at this location with AT&T ("No Service", not even one bar). Used Motorola RAZR, Nokia E71x (3g), Blackberry Pearl, iPhone 4, iPhone 3g and 3gs. Have tried an HTC Incredible on Verizon at this location and actually did get 1 bar and made a successful phone call, but I cannot comment on long term reliability. AT&T fails 110% at this location (this includes indoor and outdoor reception quality).

At&t drops my calls daily and most of the time my phone does not ring when I receive a call. The reception stinks because if you move around when you talk your call is dropped. Not what we pay for.

Call-in - very poor: A caller trying to contact me connects directly on 1st attempt 50% of the time vs. caller leaving voice mail message. Call-out - very poor: I receive "no network coverage" message more frequently than making connection when attempting a call. 2nd attempt to contact required.

Just got the 3GS. Five bars of signal and 1.2 / 700 Mbps 3G internet speed. One dropped call, a couple no ring voice mails. All in all not too bad.

Routinely drops calls as you go south nearing the 126. Never used to, but Cingular is getting worse. One time was on a call, simply got of the freeway at the 126 offramp and lost the call! No hills, no canyon, no bridge, nothing.

I have read a great deal of complaints about Cingular. I have recently switched from Nextel to Cingular and am very happy. I called Cingular customer service once about a bill and the Rep was more than pleasant. One other call about dust collecting underneath the screen and the next day I had a brand new phone on my door step! As for the reception, (Santa Clarita and SF Valley) Cingular is 100% better than Nextel. So far I am extremely happy with Cingular...

Most areas in Santa Clarita have good to excellent coverage on AT&T GSM and my phone will roam over to Cingular in the few poor areas that there are (inside my house). The only poor area for both AT&TWS and Cingular GSM is on Seco Canyon road from Bouquet Canyon to Copper Hill drive. Cingular and AT&TWS have signal ratings worse than -105 dBm on GSM 850 and 1900.

Now I'm really confused on who I'd go with. I'm with Sprint right now and in my area I get dropped calls like crazy. I call Sprint and they tell me I have great coverage in my area and they won't let me drop my plan without paying a fee. Sprints customer service is the worse I've ever seen. I can ask the same question to 5 different people and get 5 different answers. I have been told a tech is going to check out the cell site, and I've been told an engineer is going to come to my house (which I wasn't going to hold my breath for) to check out why I keep getting dropped calls. I'm told "we have great coverage in your area", then I'm told "yeah we know there is a problem". One thing I do hear from everyone is that I'm screwed. I put my phone on roaming and I get great signal using the Verizon network. I know some might say go with Verizon, but I hear horror stories about overages with them. I'm hearing AT&T is pretty bad and so is T-Mobile (which I think uses AT&T network anyway). So I keep my phone on roaming which I'm told will piss Sprint off because they get charged for it, but I'm not going to keep taking it off and on roaming just so Sprint can save money. The last guy I talked to said "Sprint was going to build another tower or two in my area but scrubbed it". They keep giving me free minutes which is just their way to try and make me feel like something is happening but its not. This has been going on for 6 months. Oh and I've heard "we don't guarantee calls indoors" too which I think is bull. I asked "so I'm suppose to go outside every time I want to make a call?" I think Sprint should fix their customer service, train their people better instead of having them just try and get you off the phone. Also I think if you keep getting dropped calls, after a certain amount of time... say 1-3 months... the problem isn't fixed or they don't have a definite time frame their going to have the problem fixed, then you can dump your plan without penalty. That would be good business practice instead of making someone stick with the broken service or pay penalty. Sprint use to have good customer service before they merged with Nextel and now its just awful.

Great Reception. Company is horrible to deal with though. They constantly make billing errors and you spend hours on the phone trying to resolve them with no appology.

Not sure what all the complaints about T-Mobile are about but in my experience my old 2 year old Nokia (am about to upgrade for Christmas) gets great reception throughout Valencia and down the 5 to my work. I had AT&T and Cingular for over 8 years and was constantly calling them for billing errors, but with T-Mobile they've been nothing but kind and courteous the few times that I have called and haven't made a single mistake on my bill in the 3 years I've been a customer.

I get NO signal at all in or outside my home. The reception in the general area varies. Sometimes I can drive a few blocks and make a call, other times no signal at all in the same location. I am glad I have a pre-paid account and not a contract with T-Mobile.

Got 2 bars at most inside the house, though coverage outside (even on the front porch) seemed to be better. Great coverage around Valencia in general. Just not inside the house for some reason.
