Started out great the first couple months. Then as usual with all cell phones they stopped working as well. spotty reception and missed call, even though we are in what they call excellent call range!

If you live in Valley Springs and spend most of your time in this area, do not waste your money on an iPhone. The data service up here sucks so bad that the data features on the iPhone either don't work or are so slow they are impractical. Lots of dead area and dropped calls too. ATT really needs to do something about the service in this area.

AT&T works perfect if you can see their Monopole (tower) at the end of Ross Dr.(where the water tank is). If you can't see the water tank, then AT&T can't see you. If you can see the water tank, you're good to go! That is... If your phone is still capable of using EDGE. If you have a 3G phone that insists on using 3G instead of older networks, your phone will constantly look for 3G sites in the valley or elsewhere, and you will get dropped calls. Force your 3G phone OUT of 3G and you won't have any problems. Just because your 3G phone says you have 2 bars (or more) signal in Valley Springs does not make it so. Just try making a call like that, go ahead... See??!

well my new I phone, does not so good here on the ranch. the old phone did much better, a Motorola flip with the Cingular name on it. but then no matter how high tech our toys can get, cell service is still a tech that is over 100 years old, (simply put -radio- ) and can be messed up by sunspots... or lack there of. but the cell service providers need to improve there service in the hills, lots of people livng here = money.

The 8525 has max signal on edge in one spot on the table. I do use it as a modem reliably, though in that spot. Once out of its spot on the table its 2 bars of edge. Can make calls but sometimes are dropped. The Motorola Q9h has max signal on edge all in the house. Its reception is superior as the rep. told me.

My husband and I have same phones purchased together, mine was the add on special. We are supposed to have the same services but I can't even check my voice messages from any where in Valley Springs! It sucks to be paying for services that you can not USE!
