T-Mobile
Tmobiles connection is terrible so far. The phone shows full bars, but no service. And the coverage bars seem to go up and down a lot

AT&T
Crappy company, customer service horrible, and no solution to ever get it fixed. AT&T are rip off company that Doesn't care about there customers or service they provide.

US Cellular
Virgin Mobile is my carrier. It's not even listed. I've had no problems with calls or sending or receiving texts in 3 years. It's not a smart phone but my iPod touch provides Internet access via WiFi with no additional charges other than regular Internet connection so a smart phone is unnecessary, unreliable and expensive. Libraries have free WiFi and so do coffee shops. If you are rich get Verizon if not go with Virgin Mobile and get good reception.

Verizon
I can be in one room of the house and while walking to the other completely loose all coverage (if I get it in the first place). Texting is about the only thing that actually works reliably from home, and the only place I have good reception on my phone is if I am standing outside my house on the sidewalk or in my garage (most of the time). When I was at work (at Verizon of all places) the phone reception was 4 bars, but when at home I am lucky if I can get half or even 1 bar. It's no wonder I am looking for a new phone carrier, but from what I can see from everyone else, they all stink. That makes me wonder, would swapping carriers be worth saving a few dollars? Since that is the only reason now that I can think of for switching.

Verizon
My Verizon service works very poorly in the Pierpont area. Lots of dropped calls and poor reception once I go inside or sit in my car outside. Experienced dropped calls alot near Buena High School, too. My phone service is excellent at my office in Camarillo. It's very frustrating for me and my friends to talk via Verizon.

T-Mobile
Reception is great outdoors, but horrible indoors. Seems to be a trend with T-Mobile (and not just at my place).

AT&T
Perfect signal all the time on 2G, even indoors and in my car. 3G is dreadful everywhere in the county. When I debranded my phone and forced it onto 2G, my service became much more reliable.

Verizon
Funniest thing is that I get reception every single area in Ventura except Saritoga park. Strange but I thought I would mention it on here.

T-Mobile
I live near cemetery park, but I get great reception almost everywhere in town.

Verizon
Decent reception, but could be better. Get about 3-4 bars most of the time, but service does connect and calls don't seem to drop very often.

Sprint
I chose Sprint 2 years ago as it seemed to provide the best service (I actually took phones and tested them around town) overall, but was very poor inside my house (0-1 bars) and my office (corner of Mills and Loma Vista). It still has not improved and I am beginning the search all over.

T-Mobile
I get frustrated with T-Mobile's signal in this area. I switched from Cingular recently and I would've given Cingular a 5 for this area.

My phone is 2 years old Tri-mode and I generally get 1-2 bars here. No static or bad quality, it is either working or not. Drops call are in-frequent but it happens. Elsewhere, reception is good.

AT&T
Tried many carriers over last 10 years. This worked best, but still drops calls, about 1 / 3 of time on Rincon Grade. My wife's phone (same model) is much worse.

AT&T
Reception highly variable - 4-5 bars to 0 within seconds. More often poor than good - if I do get a good connection it usually degrades before the call is over. Cingular seems to have poor reception in most places in Southern California.

Bad connection. Lots of dropped calls. When at home, I forward all cell calls to my land line.

Verizon
Very poor reception in my two most important places - home and work! I have to walk around - keep moving - and still I loose more calls than not. It's terrible. I don't know if it's the LG phone or Verizon but I'm considering switching to another service now.

AT&T Wireless (TDMA)
Frequent dropped calls, or phone reverts to "roam" while I am at home. Very unhappy & plan to drop AT&T when my term is up.

AT&T = Bad reception, worse service. Dropped calls all over Ventura.

AT&T Wireless (GSM)
Incredible amounts of static-very annoying-reminds me of FM radio multipath, but it is very, very widespread in the Ventura, CA area. I want to go back to AT&T TDMA-very good nationwide coverage and clear connections.
