AT&T is terrible! Los Angeles is the second largest city in the United States and I can't get a cell phone signal! This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with any service. I am dropping AT&T and going back to Verizon. Avoid this service at all costs!

About up until a month or two ago, I actually got decent reception at my desk. Now in our entire 1600 square foot office space, we get "No Service". Even when I step outside onto the corner,... ."No Service". I actually have to walk down the street a bit to get service. It's "shut the front door" ridiculous. I HATE AT&T. As soon as possible, even if I have to pay a penalty, I'm switching. I can't take this anymore.

I used to have them as CINGULAR... it was great coverage. But for the past 1.5 years the West Hollywood reception is WORTHLESS. I call and they claim to have many towers... but you'd never know it. I can't use it in my OWN APARTMENT, or almost anywhere between San Vicente to La Cienega. Then when I go a bit further toward Fairfax it stops. In fact, as soon as I EXIT laurel canyon and get close to sunset... (which you'd think would give me a better connection) it drops COMPLETELY! THe Time Warner repair guy was trying to call his office, kept wandering around the living room, roamed out to the terrace. I finally figured out he was trying to get a damn connection. When I asked who his carrier was... yeah! AT&T. same thing with my computer guy who was calling from a hallway trying to ask what unit I'm in. He has AT&T too. It's crap

AT&T reception in West Hollywood is a joke. I live in a residential area bounded on the N and S by Santa Monica Blvd.and Melrose and East-West between San Vicente and La Cienega. I can make a connection out on the street, but inside my apartment there is NO SIGNAL half of the time I need to make a call. In Hollywood where I work at Sunset Bronson Studios, I have a decent signal but am frequently unable to connect during peak hours because the network is busy. On the positive side, I'm not using as many cell-phone minutes because I can't use my phone every time I want to.

Personally, I have Verizon and the coverage just off sunset strip stinks. However, noted a lot of people complaining about AT&T. My wife has AT&T, using an iPhone 3G. She constantly drops calls (running in field test mode shows -105dBm, not good). However, going into the options and turning off 3G under network options, field test mode shows -75dBm, which is about as good as you'll get. She no longer drops calls. Sure, she doesn't get 3G data, but she wasn't before - plus the Wifi makes up for that at the house. Just something to try if you are stuck in an AT&T contract and would like to be able to place calls. Also to note, T-Mobile just built a new tower on Sunset and Miller Drive. So that's a good carrier to look at if you are in the area. Verizon is poor in this area and I'm forced to use one of their network extenders.

ATT sucks -- I lose servcie all the time and all my calls drop. I work from home and need my phone working all the time. I can't beleive the coverage here. I used to live in Seattle and never had an issue but this is ridiculous. ZERO bars in one of hte largest cities in the world. WTF?

AT&T has the worst phone service. I use the iPhone 3GS and live in on the Sunset strip in West Hollywood and get no reception in my apartment. In addition, I frequently drop calls all around town. I'm switching to Verizon tomorrow. What's the point of a cell phone if you can't call anyone? AT&T, I hate you so much.

$100 per month phone bill and I rarely have reception. I am switching to T-Mobile in 35 days when my contract is up. Seems to me that ATT has not spent any money on improving their infrastructure. They have been taking all the money we give them and party with it. They suck big time. Make sure you let every one know not to sign up with them.

Just moved from San Francisco to L.A., and have Iphone. AT and T coverage in San Francisco is excellent. It is terrible in L.A. Constant dropped calls, poor reception, calls going to voicemail. My phone is virtually unusable. I have no choice but to switch to another carrier, as it is not possible to use this phone in L.A. I live one block north of Sunset on the 9th floor of a highrise. Still get terrible coverage there. The phone cannot be used for business due to reception / dropped calls. Although I like the Iphone, I am going to change service and incur a cancellation fee. Do not even consider getting ATT in L.A., you will be frustrated and disappointed

I moved to West Hollywood from Denver, CO 4 months ago. I am simply shocked at how horrible AT&T's reception is here. I don't want to give up my iPhone... but it appears I will have to as it just doesn't work here. If I am home, I can use my wifi to connect to my apps... but forget about making or receiving a call. I can go on my roof and pray... but isn't worth the $125 per month for a mobile phone that you can't talk on! I hate that they won't even acknowledge the issue... EVERYONE in my neighborhood who has an iPhone jokes about it... and they do nothing. To me, it's a breach of contract... I guess I am going to have to give up my iPhone and switch carriers... seriously, its not like I live in the backwoods... it's LA for God's sake... can't they do something!

AT&T in West Hollywood is TERRIBLE! I, like several others on here, have to stand in a corner and hang over a balcony to get ANY RECEPTION, even though the service claims 4 bars. Always drops calls here, and many other places in West Hollywood area. It's so frustrating! Just an FYI, I had Sprint servie before this and switched to AT&T for an iPhone (I'm a Mac freak), but the Sprint coverage was FLAWLESS. Both here and all over LA. And now with the new Palm Pre, I think it may be worth switching back so I dont have to drive down the street to talk on the phone. AT&T SUCKS and are so much more expensive! Sprint's $99 Simply Everything Plan is the shizzle!

I just moved to Los Angeles from Cincinnati Ohio and I'm very frustrated with AT&T. The service in-my home is virtually non - existant. I have to stand in the corner of my living room to not have calls drop. I'm also finding that coverage is poor throughout the LA area. I have at least 10 - 15 calls drop each day. The 3G service is also very sporadic. What I find so amazing, is that the phone will show full bars, yet the calls continue to drop or will be very poor quality. I feel like filing a class action lawsuit against AT&T for their poor service. I, like most others, am paying them a lot of money for contracted service which I'm not getting. I may just walk away from my contract and pay whatever penalties they assess just to have a phone that works!

ATT is completely useless in Hollywood in general. Is there no legal obligation on ATT 's part to offer service in areas they sell phones and service for?

Reception with my iPhone inside my apt is HORRIBLE. Anyone else has the same bad experience? Signal is better inside the parking garage, in the lower level and inside the elevator than inside the apt. I have only one spot near the balcony where I can speak wondering if the person on the other side can hear me. On that spot I already have a little stool, cigarettes and ashtray, coz that's the only place I can get signal and speak. Sucks!

I have used Cingular / ATT for nine years at the same location. When ATT took over my reception on 3 different brand name phones (Samsung, LG, and Motorola) all fell from 3-4 bars to 0-1 bar at home. And there has been a sharp increase in dropped calls in other areas where I am getting 4-5 bars. We are all being led to believe that mediocre service from any carrier is the 'NEW STANDARD'. I am frustrated and tired of switching companies ony to find the same poor service. To top it off, phone companies are now dumping customers that complain too much about their poor service and reception. So when do the class action law suits begin, and where can I sign up??
