On a good day, I get one or two bars. At my home and at my work, I can't use my phone at all. I was working in Irvine and coveage was very good. I could live with not having the phone at my home. Now I work at a church, there are around 3,000 people who go to this church. ATT has a very bad name here. verizon coverage is good here. If you live in Whittier, don't go ATT, go verizon.

I've just moved here. 90 percent of my calls get dropped. I hardly receive any calls, it goes straight to the answering machine. When I do pick up, the phone call is dropped. I wish I could opt out of my contract early without having to dish out a few hundred bucks. I called ATT and they said I was located in "good coverage" area. I thought that was complete BS and laughed. Whatever you decide to do, save your time and money and go with Verizon. My neighbors all have Verizon and they told me they never get dropped phone calls. I once had Verizon and completely hated it, but at this point my options are open to anything besides ATT.

We used to get great reception and service from Cingular until we were "pushed" into upgrading to their new "improved" 64k sim card. Ever since, we drop 70%-90% of all our calls! It is nearly unusable. We've tried two different phone" the Motorola C139 and the Nokia 6030. We are currently using the Nokia, but it is only slightly better than C139. According to Cingular's Coverage Area map, we should be in a location with "Best" coverage, but our expereince has been the opposite. if only we could go back to the old phones and sim cards. The problem is, when we upgraded we signed a new 2 year contract and now we'd have to pay the early termination fees to go with another carrier.

For the last 6 weeks or so, service has been becoming increasingly worse. I tried to call "611" today to find out if there was a service issue, and had to enter it and send 3 times - it just clicks out. I get much more "System busy" and "Cannot connect" messages than I ever did in the past. There is frequent static or warbling. All the service rep. could tell me was that Cingular was "upgrading" the towers in the area, and had been doing so for some time.

This is my 3rd phone with cingular, I can't get reception in any building... not my home, office, hang outs... no enclosed building. And I drop many calls throughout the area even when I am outside! I can't wait until my contract is up

i have had three different phones from Cingular in this area. no matter what phone I have it always has horiable reception. I have called Cingular and complained for the last 3 years and they still have not done anything to fix it. I am always dropping calls (fewest call dropped my ass) and I only have one to 0 bars at all times. I keep calling 611 and they keep telling me that it will be fix soon. (Its been 3 years!) if anyone from Cingular is reading this I hope that you can finally fix thismassive problem

I get excellent reception close to home. However when I travel east or south signal strength drops. If I am indoors southeast of home the other party can hear me, but I can barely hear the other party.

Get good reception most days and most places around Whittier, but sometimes really clear weather or really cloudy weather seem to lower reception.
