I get excellent reception close to home. However when I travel east or south signal strength drops. If I am indoors southeast of home the other party can hear me, but I can barely hear the other party.

Verizon is AWESOME! Thanks Verizon! You are a life saver! Life with Verizon is sooooo much easier! I've been so angry with this coverage war between service providers who promise you great coverage, but you end up with nothing but dropped calls and no service. Ever since I left Sprint, then ATT, then Cingular I finally decided to join a quality network--Verizon. Yes, it did cost a few extra buck at the time, but IT'S COMPLETELY WORTH IT! When I had ATT and Cingular, everywhere I traveled in LA County was TERRIBLE! Just go with Verizon and spare yourself the hassle and stress. Signed, Extremely HAPPY Verizon Customer!

The reception here is a real challenge as we are up in the hills, but so far Verizon is the best. We tried Sprint and ATT and they both dropped calls, sometimes the phone does not even ring.

All cell phones especially Cingular struggle in this area but Verizon sucks less.

Verizon has a dead spot on the top of Colima Road, between Mar Vista and Hacienda. There is another on the top of Idaho between Imperial Hwy. and Bastanchury Rd. Other that those two spots, service is fine in the area. Hilly areas seem to challenge any carrier's service. In this same area Cingular and Sprint have 0-1 bar but calls rarely go through or drop frequently.

Fewer dropped calls. Previous carriers like Cingular, Sprint, and T-Mobile have no reception out here. Verizon is the only carrier that has the reception to give you a phone conversation for more than 5 seconds.

My Nokia 6015i gets 3-4 bars, some parts of house 5. Sometimes had to drive a block to 1 mile from home to get a signal. I live between 3 cell cites, all less than 1 1/2 miles from me. 2 are line of sight. Verizon sent a truck out to check the area for signal reception. They said they would put in another tower. They couldn't explain loss of signal. Other Verizon phones, another T730 and LG VX4400, may get up to 2 bars. Verizon gave me a $50 credit so I got the 6015i for my inconvenience.

I get no reception in my home, unless I go to the backyard or frontyard. No reception in any department stores, no reception at work and I drop calls whenever I'm on the 60 freeway passing the Monteghetto Town Center. Other than that it's not too bad... .

In the house the reception is vauge. The bars change depending on what side the room you are. Outside it not too bad, but if you travel around uptown whittier, hacienda heights, friendly hills, and brea olinda cayon you have little to no signal.

There are a couple of spots in the Whittier area that it is guaranteed that you will lose your Sprint signal. One is uptown Whittier. No cell service in the 8 or 10 blocks around Uptown Whittier. The other dead spot is on Colima Rd.which is a major traffic through way. As soon as you begin to climb the hill, your call will be dropped. I actually have a couple of dead spots in my house. Of course, one of those spots is right where my easy chair is in front of the TV.

Get good reception most days and most places around Whittier, but sometimes really clear weather or really cloudy weather seem to lower reception.

South Whittier - Never get good signal at my home! Have to stand in a "sweet" spot next to my bedroom window to get 2 bars out of 4 max. Usually 1 or NO bars. I complained many times to AT&T and they told me they were going to add in a cell site in Uptown Whittier but never did. All talk. Im switching to Verizon in 2 weeks after 2 years of crap service from AT&T!!!

On a good day, I get one or two bars. At my home and at my work, I can't use my phone at all. I was working in Irvine and coveage was very good. I could live with not having the phone at my home. Now I work at a church, there are around 3,000 people who go to this church. ATT has a very bad name here. verizon coverage is good here. If you live in Whittier, don't go ATT, go verizon.

I've just moved here. 90 percent of my calls get dropped. I hardly receive any calls, it goes straight to the answering machine. When I do pick up, the phone call is dropped. I wish I could opt out of my contract early without having to dish out a few hundred bucks. I called ATT and they said I was located in "good coverage" area. I thought that was complete BS and laughed. Whatever you decide to do, save your time and money and go with Verizon. My neighbors all have Verizon and they told me they never get dropped phone calls. I once had Verizon and completely hated it, but at this point my options are open to anything besides ATT.

We used to get great reception and service from Cingular until we were "pushed" into upgrading to their new "improved" 64k sim card. Ever since, we drop 70%-90% of all our calls! It is nearly unusable. We've tried two different phone" the Motorola C139 and the Nokia 6030. We are currently using the Nokia, but it is only slightly better than C139. According to Cingular's Coverage Area map, we should be in a location with "Best" coverage, but our expereince has been the opposite. if only we could go back to the old phones and sim cards. The problem is, when we upgraded we signed a new 2 year contract and now we'd have to pay the early termination fees to go with another carrier.
