In the house the reception is vauge. The bars change depending on what side the room you are. Outside it not too bad, but if you travel around uptown whittier, hacienda heights, friendly hills, and brea olinda cayon you have little to no signal.

There are a couple of spots in the Whittier area that it is guaranteed that you will lose your Sprint signal. One is uptown Whittier. No cell service in the 8 or 10 blocks around Uptown Whittier. The other dead spot is on Colima Rd.which is a major traffic through way. As soon as you begin to climb the hill, your call will be dropped. I actually have a couple of dead spots in my house. Of course, one of those spots is right where my easy chair is in front of the TV.

Get good reception most days and most places around Whittier, but sometimes really clear weather or really cloudy weather seem to lower reception.

South Whittier - Never get good signal at my home! Have to stand in a "sweet" spot next to my bedroom window to get 2 bars out of 4 max. Usually 1 or NO bars.
I complained many times to AT&T and they told me they were going to add in a cell site in Uptown Whittier but never did. All talk.
Im switching to Verizon in 2 weeks after 2 years of crap service from AT&T!!!

Ok to tell you the truth I actually never have any bars. Maybe one or two at the most, if I move around in my apartment.Calls always drop in my living room, kitchen, and some other places. Uptown Whittier service sucks.

1 sometimes 2 bars of 4g outside of my house. Hardly any bars inside. Bought a cell booster and came here looking to find the nearest tower. Verizon hates my area, no FiOS and going east or west a few miles gives great 4g service! :(

On a good day, I get one or two bars. At my home and at my work, I can't use my phone at all. I was working in Irvine and coveage was very good. I could live with not having the phone at my home. Now I work at a church, there are around 3,000 people who go to this church. ATT has a very bad name here. verizon coverage is good here. If you live in Whittier, don't go ATT, go verizon.

I've just moved here. 90 percent of my calls get dropped. I hardly receive any calls, it goes straight to the answering machine. When I do pick up, the phone call is dropped. I wish I could opt out of my contract early without having to dish out a few hundred bucks. I called ATT and they said I was located in "good coverage" area. I thought that was complete BS and laughed. Whatever you decide to do, save your time and money and go with Verizon. My neighbors all have Verizon and they told me they never get dropped phone calls. I once had Verizon and completely hated it, but at this point my options are open to anything besides ATT.

We used to get great reception and service from Cingular until we were "pushed" into upgrading to their new "improved" 64k sim card. Ever since, we drop 70%-90% of all our calls! It is nearly unusable. We've tried two different phone" the Motorola C139 and the Nokia 6030. We are currently using the Nokia, but it is only slightly better than C139. According to Cingular's Coverage Area map, we should be in a location with "Best" coverage, but our expereince has been the opposite. if only we could go back to the old phones and sim cards. The problem is, when we upgraded we signed a new 2 year contract and now we'd have to pay the early termination fees to go with another carrier.
