AWFUL, no matter what phone device with AT&T. Going to switch to Verizon and see if that is better

While I might get average bars, the service is terrrible. I can't make calls most times and when I do they tend to get dropped. When I travel, expecially to an event with high turn-out, I am unable to make calls, data is non-existant. I hate ATT but have too many apps with iPhone / iPad that I hate to leave the handset. Verizon is much more expensive and according to the reviews here not much better service. I think I'll have to go to a satellite phone!

Lol... I was just looking at the coverage map and I swear my house is on the line where it goes from great service to poor. My neighbors and I all have commented on how bad the signal is on the south west side of Founders.

I get dropped calls all the time. I have bought a cell phone extender and will see if that helps but I love my phone but the reception in my neighborhood is horrible. If I go 1 mile I get better reception but in the family room maybe 1 bar at night. During the day upstairs gets two bars.

Followup from my posting on Oct 26, 2005, when I had a Motorola V540. Cingular is still the king. Can't recall my last dropped call. I get full and excellent coverage in and around Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, all up and down the I25 corridor (even up to Cheyenne WY, where I go a lot). Even get great coverage going out and past Franktown to Elizabeth. I know equipment can affect service. I currently carry a Motorola V365, in the past 14 months I have carried: Nokia 6682, Motorola RAZR, Motorola V540 and V551, Motorola L2, Samsung X497 and X426. All of them except the Samsungs were perfect in reception and lack of dropped calls. I highly recommend Cingular with Motorola and Nokia products that operate on the 1900 AND 850 MHz frequencies.

I'm with Cingular since the buyout of AT&T Wireless. My reception is perfect all over the Denver metro area, I can't remember my last dropped call (couple years ago when with AT&T on 1900 MHz only). I recently drove from Riverside CA to Cheyenne WY and had coverage 95+% of the drive, I was amazed. My partner only had about 75% coverage on their Verizon phone. The 850 MHz band really makes a difference as it has much greater range. (I had to make this zip 80104 as 80108 is not recognized, but my zip is 80108)

Just switched from AT&T a few days ago and my Sprint service has been just ok. The phone is slow to open emails, AT&T iPhone 4 was much faster with that. Also my voice cuts out a lot when on calls and I hear it too. So far, not impressed.

We moved here last week from Highlands Ranch. I have a Nokia phone, and T-Mobile coverage is nonexistent here just off of Ridge Road. If I can dump T-Mobile for another carrier, I will.

The reception in and around Castle Rock has always been good for me and my wife. T-Mobile reception in other rural places has been poor.
