I don't understand how people complain about cell service? Since when has it ever been 100% reliable? For those of you complaining about no reception, blame yourself for deciding where you live. First off, HOA's never allow towers to be built anywhere near their subdivisions so that applies to almost everything north of Constitution. For those of you who decided to live near the mountains, on top of ridges, in secluded areas... .well there's your sacrifice. Cell towers don't give off this magical reception that penetrates through thick trees, hills, or bends all sorts of ways to get to where your house is located. There is a reason why Colorado Springs was ranked second worst city as far as cell phone reception is concerned. I have AT&T and I do get a dropped call here and there but it is to be EXPECTED! If you don't get good service then switch! All carriers are going to have their good spots and bad so obviously shopping around will get you the best service... and when I say shopping I mean shop coverage NOT prices. You get what you pay for.

With AT&T and Galaxy S3's my wife and I are being told the towers no longer work with our phones. We only have the option for 911 calling and only have web access if connected to wifi. AT&T says all the towers are down and there is no ETA on the fix. They also will not credit us for time down. iPhone 4 I gave my father works fine a block away. What gives?

Why are there no cell towers on the north and west side of I-25 in Colorado Springs? Cell coverage is spotty at best all over the hills and valleys below the Waldo Canyon Burn.

Excellent AT&T coverage in University Park and most of Colorado Springs. Not bad considering that Verizon is a dead spot where I live and it took them over 3 months and they lied, cheated, and stole every step of the way. T-Mobile also works well in this area, but I've had more dead spots around town with T-Mobile than AT&T.

Pretty Sad. AT&T coverage really sucks - but when I go outside, I see my neighbors with other carriers also trying to find a signal. We pay way too much money for this poor service. I've not upgraded my phone because I can't see paying another $300+ for a phone, and $150+ per month subscription for ABSOLUTELY POOR service. Is there a petition I can sign with other citizens to remedy this?

Had to get a MicroCell in order to make a call, keep a call. Even with that $200 expenditure, it can be "iffy". AT&T has indicated there will be a tower closer to us. First it was March of 2013 and now it's August 2013. Hopefully, that will help. Like AT&T, but if reception continues to be an issue, we'll look at another carrier for that area.

Overall AT&T is great nationwide. Overall coverage in Colorado springs is TOO HARD to give an accurate answer. Why? Because you might get full service in one spot and then zero in another. Every single carrier is like that. Every location is going to get different reception. If you are in Colorado springs and get any of the major carriers - AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-mobile, etc, you will get good service in general. Just some will have dead spots where you need them the most (like work or home) so you'll think that carrier sucks and assume the carrier that has reception in those two places - your home and work - you'll assume that carrier is great. Not really the case. Because they might get reception if you happen to move and now at your new house it's the opposite. It's all about location... but anyways if AT&T ever where to read this, keep adding more towers! If AT&T does they will have no problem beating Verizon.

Good compared to Verizon out here. Wish we had LTE though...

I live in the Broadmoor area and have suffered through very poor reception. We live at the base of Cheyenne Mountain and have been told that the mountain blocks the signal from the tower. I went to my local AT&T store on Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. near Target and picked up a Micro Cell Tower that boosts the signal through my internet connection. This has changed the reception dramatically; now have full bars consistently. As soon as I leave my house the signal is lost until I get to Hwy. 115. AT&T needs to get a new tower in our area; under the shadow of the mountain.

At&t's coverage in the northwest side of Colorado Springs is terrible. At my home in the Rockrimmon neighborhood I have ZERO BARS!

I see a lot of conflicting information on these posts. I work from home and have no land line... therefore I rely on my cell phone 100% of the time. I've been a customer of AT&T for years, and didn't have issues with dropped calls until this last year. AT&T has really disappointed me as each call I make drops within 3-5 minutes. it's NEVER their fault, and always an excuse. I hate the thought of having to get a land line again (telemarketing) but may have to. Work requires an iPhone... however selecting a RELIABLE carrier is driving me nuts..since i'll just have to deal with a different carriers "issues / excuses" until that contract is up... such a racket!

In Springs Ranch area I see my signal go between 2 and 5 bars, but never enough to drop a call. Service is not as bad as people make it out to be. Unfortunately, they are a little behind getting 4G LTE to the Coloraado Springs area. Looking forward to the upgrade in data speeds.

AT&T has been telling me I live in a "hole" and Colorado Springs has overall poor AT&T coverage. THen why are they saleing the product to locals? I can be in my apartment and the signal goes from nothing to all my bars to nothing... without moving! Currently I have 1 bar; if I hae to call 911 I'm screwed. If you lie in the area, you should avoid AT&T at all costs. They will also cancel your service if you use too many "off network" minutes, even after telling them I travel for a living. My family has alrady changed to Verizon, it's just a matter of time before I do.

Can't call out with the iPhone. Received phone from my company, apparently they do not have another carrier. They ordered me the microcell, which depends on my Internet service to get a signal. With the microcell, I get decent reception with both voice and data, but when my DSL goes out, I am back to nothing. Personal service is Sprint. We bought a cheap signal booster (~$100), and as long as we are standing right next to it, we can get a decent signal, no dropped calls. So far, the best I have seen in this area is my parents' T-Mobile phones. They can walk around the house and only drop about 50% of the calls. If they are near the signal booster, they get a good signal. I think my mom's Android was able to get data no problem.

Att has terrible coverage in this area. Really surprises me since this is in the city. What's worse, they plain don't care.

I have reception in the basement bathroom where probably the exhaust pipe acts as some sort of antenna but that's about it. There are a few spots in the kitchen.

poor reception at home in apartments even though coverage map says it should be good in this area. almost no reception at all at work, where again, coverage map says it should be best / good. dropped calls, calls don't come through, voicemail comes in an hour later. texting can't send if call is trying to come through, but the call doesn't show. Calls get diverted to voicemail if texting. VERY frustrating for business. Considering changing service providers- looks like Sprint and Verizon both have better coverage for the areas I live and work in, but don't know if their coverage maps might be as inaccurate as AT&T's

No service at work or home. Reception went to bad to worse! Not sure what to do at this point. We have two I phones, no land Line. Had Sprint before and it was reasonable. Basically, the phones are useless now. Called customer service, no resolve yet! Phone cut out even with them.

Kept getting "call failed" and dropped calls on both my wife's and mines Iphone 4's last couple months and couldn't even make calls last week from that location or around town. Have a year left and willing to pay the "early termination fee" Signed up with Verizon and two new Iphone 4's, hopefully the service will be better. Verizon has a trade in program depending on how old and what condition your Iphone 4 is in. (enough to pay for the early termination fee). Folks I've talked to have had no real problem with phone calls on their Verizon Iphone (just the rare occassion) Hey, I know the technology isnt perfect but really ATT network seems to have only gotten worse over time... plus Verizon is bringing 4G LTE service out much faster than ATT (already in alot of major cities) and its coming to Colorado Springs by beginning of next year. The next version of Iphone will probably have 4G LTE. I opted for the current Iphone 4 because I needed a phone now. I'll just wait for the time I can upgrade to a Iphone with 4G LTE (Android phones a little to buggy for my taste) at least I should be able to make a basic phone call with it! So if basic phone call capability is important to you don't let the whistle and bells cloud your decision on choosing a phone.

My call even got dropped while talking to AT&T Customer Service! I have to get a new phone now, but I absolutely Refuse to sign a new 2yr contract with At&T! They lie on their complete coverage ads! But it's looking like all cell service companies are like politicians..they all lie and it's a choice of the lesser of the evils.

dropped call after dropped call and AT&T wanted to hook me up with a plan to boost my coverage but, here's the catcher, I would have to pay a service for their poor service, LMAO

Switched from Alltel to AT&T by AT&T purchase of Alltel properties in our previous area. Although Alltel did not have towers in our new area, (Colorado Springs), we were using either Sprint or Verison towers while here - no reception issues. Now very questionable reception at my house. People have tried calling my wife on her cell phone multiple times, some giving up, some finally getting through. I have trouble calling from my home but get good reception at work (Garden of Gods and Forge). This is only day two on AT&T, not sure we'll stay with them. Contract runs out 1-Jun-11, now exploring options. Suggestions welcome.

If you are near the intersection of Powers and Fountain don't even try to use your phone in doors. It says I have 3 to 4 bars but can't connect to my data network and I'm not receiving calls.

The phone reports decent coverage here in Northgate where I live, usually 4 / 5 or 5 / 5 bars. However, ever since the iPhone came along we get dropped calls absolutely all the time. For a period of time in the summer of 2010 we would probably drop 1 out of 2 calls within the first minute, or often just be unable to dial out at all (connection error). AT&T reportedly made some network improvements last fall to address the problems, and now it's maybe 1 out of 5 calls are dropped. I'm tired of competing with the stupid iPhone for just having enough bandwidth to make a silly voice call. We're leaving as soon as we can. I believe that there is a Sprint tower about a mile west of us at I-25 and roughly mile marker 155, and no iPhone bandwidth hogs on Sprint. Also, there is zero coverage on Centennial about half a mile north of 30th all the way around Ute Valley Park to Eagleview middle school.

AT&T's air card is worthless. I work out of my home, and spend more time trying to connect / re-connect than I spend on work. I will literally get 20-30 "reconnect" pop-up windows every hour. I can't wait to get rid of this thing and get something that allows me to focus on my job instead of thrashing around on AT&Ts problems.

The reception is zero in this area. If you happen to get one or two bars when the wind blows in the right direction you don't get them for very long so it's not worth even trying to make a call. I am planning on paying out of my contract as soon as I figure out the best coverage for the area I spend most of time in.

I've suffered with AT&T wireless reception for years, iPhone 3G and now iPhone 4. This week bought a Verizion iPhone 4 for wife. FANTASTIC! Side by side, she has 4-5 bars, I have 1-2. If you live in Mountain Shadows, and are looking at the iPhone, DEFINITELY get the Verizion version. I would trade in my AT&T iPhone 4 right now, but there are rumors of an iPhone 5 coming out this year.

Moved here about 4 years ago for school, since being here I have had awesome reception. My freshman year I did a lot of hiking and biking and never lost service. I will say it seems like everyone here has Verizon or AT&T but I get better service from AT&T and there network never seems to be overloaded here so my internet speeds are great. I would never switch!

I drop 1 / 2 of all calls. Terrible customer service. In my home I get 1 bar on average and it will jump up to 3-4 once every week or two then drop back down to 1. It is worth it to me to pay the 300 early cancelation fee and go back to T-Mobile where I had no problems.
