I know this industry, so I will not waste my time complaining about dead or weak spots in town. Sprint has always had better coverage than anyone but Verizon. Period. The issue is not having 4G yet. Colorado Springs has been left off of the 4G map for far too long now..And if we don't get it this year, Verizon here I come..

For the last two months have have had signal strength at home of 0-Full, depending on the minute. Logged several calls with Customer support... worthless. Finally call Executive Customer support... almost worthless. Different excuse every day. I finally received $264 in credits, which I used to cancel my service (8 year customer). Moved to T-Mobile and love the price speed and service.

We've been having same problem as has been posted here. Sprint is up one minute and down the next in our area. I work downtown and have no problem there and no problem after I leave my neighborhood, but in my house the signal will be 3-4 bars one minute and then no service or Extended with 1 bar. This has been going on for a few weeks now.

When we got our Sprint service in Oct 2011 it was fine, 4-5 bars in the house at all times. Then in February 2012 things changed radically. We started dropping cars routinely (6-8 per day) and at times we would have No Service on half to one bar of signal. I called Sprint and went through hours of annoying service updating on my phone and resetting everything on my iPhone. I finally convinced the techs that since I had four iPhones all on Sprint all doing the same thing, that it wasn't our phones. They escalated me to an engineer who said that they were servicing the cell in our neighborhood and that it should be back to normal within 36 hours. That was five weeks ago and nothing has changed. I have been calling Sprint service routinely to complain every few days and have become quite adept at getting them to admit it is their fault each time telling me that they show that the cell in our neighborhood is down or being serviced. I have asked to be credited and they are "investigating" whether they can offer us credit for not providing us any service. We had been with T-Mobile for over ten years and had wonderful cell service and wonderful customer service. If we ever had even the slightest outage that we didn't even complain about, T-Mobile would proactively issue a bill credit for the outage. Sprint is acting like they could care less.

I've had Sprint for almost 4 (or 5) years. Only a couple of times have I had no signal where I've been. I've lived in Ohio, Illinois, and Colorado with Sprint. Where I live now, I go between 4 and 5 bars, depending on where I am in my apt. I get a better signal in Pueblo West on Sprint, than my parents do on Verizon. I'm able to make calls, and not "drop" them inside their house, compared to my parents, who have to go outside on their deck to make calls on their Droid 2's (Global). I even had a signal on Sprint in Illinois, compared to my grandparents on AT&T. Sure did love being able to make calls and "drop" them. Poor AT&T and Verizon. Charging more and more for less and less service.

We bought a signal booster and get good signals as long as we stand right next to the signal booster. This is with three different phones. Without the signal booster, maybe 50%+ dropped calls. AT&T is zero signal without installing a microcell. With the microcell, I get good reception throughout the house, but if the internet goes out, there is zero signal again. When my parents visited, their Tmobiles got the best reception I have seen yet. They could make calls from just about anywhere in the house and they received data service just fine.

Worst service ever! I work from home and up until two months ago, I had no issues with Sprint. Now it seems nearly all my calls are being dropped. Needless to say I'm extremely frustrated with Sprint and will definitely cancel their service contract unless they take the initiative (after my repeated phone calls) and get this problem fixed.

This is a trouble spot for AT&T, not sure about Verizon. Coverage is very good here on Sprint. There is no signal at all here behind Ute Valley Park on AT&T. Haven't had a dropped call yet on Sprint.

This area has a known signal issues and you will be lucky to get Sprint phone service, but NO data. Sprint has a "new" Airrave 2 unit that you can put into your house. It's a mini tower that uses gps and internet. This is supposed to be the fix, we'll see! I have been with all the companys between work cell phones and personal phones, T-Mobile has the best service in Colorado Springs.

Just switched from Nextel to Sprint. Nextel had much better reception. The Sprint Blackberry makes your voice sound like you are talking in a cave. The Blackberry processor seems to be very slow. The unlimited everything plan is a nice idea, but not when you don't have very good service. I need to keep looking and return my phone before the 30 day guarantee expires.

I was looking to leave Sprint and go to another cell provider to save a little money - but from what I am reading - service realiability is all over the place! maybe i'll stay with Sprint! My Sprint service is excellent in the Briargate area, the only problem areas I have found are on Woodmen between Union and Academy, and on the Air Force Academy. I've been with Sprint for 4 years, and travelled all over the country with the nationwide service - no problems!

I regularly commute between Woodland Park and Colorado Springs. Reception in Ute Pass is OK, but spotty (as expected), but once in the clear, reception is good. I've had no trouble around most areas in the Springs. Reception inside my building on the NW part of town is good. Reception from the Springs to Ft. Collins is generally good. I get very few dropped calls. When they do drop, I notice the signal simply drops out completely - then pops back. This may occur when changing from one cell to another??

Some corrections to my first blog on Sprint PCS. When asking for them to wave your contract without a fee. Talk to the customer service people on your regular phone. Call their state wide customer service people and do-not waste your time going down to store on North Academy. I had found speaking directly with the head office I have gotten better responses from them. AS I stated even if the map shows us in their calling area the rep that terminated my contract for free said more than once to me that I was not and that they have had troubles as I spoke about with the voice mails and having to find a ear bud that work right. Please also note do-not use the mute button on this ear bud / mike, it will hang you up in the middle of a call. Than you'll get a screen sayiing you have not set up the voice command address function. But other than that if you want to stay with Sprint you should get a clear phone call. Now that is with the A460 I spoke of. But I have had others tell me throughout the town they have had sim troubles as well in the city. I found the best place to talk was the drive on I-25 from Denver into the Springs and visa / versa. Pueblo was another animal when getting into low areas. As far as being on the highway in other states like out on I-80, even in roam I got no signal at all till I reached a major city. That was not a nice feeling when you are traveling with your family and kids along. Even some major cities I had troubles connecting to whoever. Like I said a very scary feeling. Being a retired disabled veteran I bought the cell for just these reasons and to be able to have a free line open while on my puter. As I said it seems that us Colorado Springs users are a leg down with all the electronic micro waves we get hit with from mainly I feel is do to military bases. Also note when driving in a heavy populated areas where there is a lot of electronic mirco wave tech being used like driving by gas stations and fast food resturants you can lose contact there too. The signal that is being sent to the cashier inside from the pump works on this system and so on for when people order food. I figured this out just by trial and error and seeing how my car radar dectector goes crazies in the city. Also many other companies use each others towers and they can get over loaded and than you have to consider satalite positions for the tower to bounce your signal off to the Satalite. Good luck everyone and GBU all WG... .

I've had a Samsung A460 for over 2 years now. I normally get out whenever I make a call and is pretty clear on both ends. Though it took me up till last month or so when I purchased a Belkin ear bud mike set from Wal-mart for about 17 dallors. I bought the universal one. Mind you I had tried 4 other ear bugs / mike and never found one to last very long before it broke down. So prior to that I would have to talk into the mike on the phone like I was using a CB mike and than turn the set back towards me to hear the persons reponse. It drove me nuts all this time. (And missed what the other person was saying) The original Touch Point phone I started out with work so much better till they went to their new service technology that the Touch Point would no longer work right. I finally got mad enough to call Sprint and tell them that I had it up to my neck with the service as well. And that I had planned on dropping them Dec 18th 2004. I had been keeping track of my contract and when it was to expire and it was due to expire Dec 26, 2004. I seen this on my contract online and with the paper work I had when I purchased the phone. Well the day I went to cancel my plan Sprint swicthed my contract without my approval that day to end Dec 26, 2006. Needless to say I about blew a gasket. I call customer service and they said that was incorrect and I had no other choice but to stay with them. (Unless I wanted to pay the 150 early fee termination cost) Well just this past two weeks ago I call and decided to just pay the 150 early termanination fee. But after 4 calls I was able to get a honest rep that said sir your really not in the service area and he waved the 150. So this coming up Monday 26th of Sept I'll be through with them. I too had troubles with getting voices mails up to 4 day's later. My brother in Alabama had the same trouble and went to Cingular and has the new Razor and has no troubles at all with it. But that doesn't help us here in Colorado after reading some of the Cingular customers reviews on here. So I have know clue who I will go to now. Totally stumped after reading reviews to see who seems to be the best carrier. As I said for the most part I always had clear calls as long as I used the ear bud mike Universal one. Wal-mart carries them and everyone said I sounded like I was on a regular phone. But if I forgot to bring it along with me in my busy life I was doomed. Sprint offered me another phone because I earn it with the timeframe I had been with them, but I said no unless they would allow in to test some of their phones for free and compare them. I have't got a yes answer on that one and don't think I will. But I will try again. The service at the North Academy Sprint store is very bad. When having troubles with the phones I talked about they always wanted to give me a used one of the same style or a repaired one. Or give me another brand phone. I had to threaten them with a lawyer to get a new one each time, while in the warrenty timeframe. I think for the most part why we all seem to be getting bad reception is because we live near many military bases that interfere with the connections and sound QA. Plus many low points in town. All I had to do was drive pass The Qwest hub on Galley rd and it was a sure deal I would drop. Please note people that are using Sprint PCS we are not in their calling area and that is why we do-not get voices mails for days. They will wave the contract early termination fee SO I would highly take my advise and tell them what I have said here. Don't let them fool you. If they get funky with you, ask to talk to a supervisor and case closed than ;) Good luck and I hope this blog I wrote is helpful Sincerely WG.

Sprint has pretty decent coverage in North Central Colorado Springs. I use my cell as a home phone and once-in-awhile get a call dropped when inside my apartment. I'd rate coverage inside at 3.5 and outside at 4.0 out of 5.0.
Remember that coverage also depends on the phone being used.
