Verizion has a hole between Dublin and Austin Bluffs on Rangewood, and west on Vickers almost to Flintridge. My Motorola E815 holds the control channel up, but voice does not get through (i.e. call isn't dropped, but neither party can hear the other talking) as I drive through the area. Thus far, my experience has been that the E815 has a very robust radio in it, your experience in this area may vary.

I've had a Motorola T720 on ATT / Cingular's GSM network for the past 2 years (2003-2005). With a few exceptions, I could consistently count on all calls being dropped after 3-5 minutes. This happens all over town (CS), and in San Diego as well. I've heard the same story from numerous other ATT / Cingular customers. The most annoying aspect is that over time the problem has worsened, not improved. All Cingular could tell me when I asked about the issue was that I needed "the new 64 bit phones" that work better on Cingular's network. Having technical expertise in the telephone and radio fields, I could not get sensible explaination of what a "64 bit" phone was; I smell something funny.

Very poor transmission / reception. Most of the time I have to call people back on my landline because they can't hear me and I can't hear them. Other Cingular users who live in my area have the same problems. However, Sprint users in my area have much better transmission / reception and I plan to switch soon.

Bars show good reception but almost impossible to complete a call. Signal stregth always shows good or better, but quality is terrible. Calls drop for no reason, and even when it stays connected it loses about twenty percent of the words. As soon as I get within a half mile of this area everything starts to go bad. None of my friends with other companies seem to have a problem from my house or in the area. DO NOT BUY VERIZON IF YOU LIVE IN THIS AREA.

I've had terrible reception for two years in the Broadmoor area- when my contract expired, they convinced me that I just needed a phone upgrade- WRONG- with a new $200 Motorola, my reception went from bad to none at all- nary a signal. I quit the plan and switched to Sprint instead. For two years, Verizon has promised a new tower near the Broadmoor area- it never materialized.

Just traded up from a Kiocera 2325 which worked here 95% of the time perfectly to LG 6100 and went from getting reception everywhere except in front of house and the new phone doesn't get reception anywhere in the development. I can get service and have 3 antenna strips and dial a number and suddenly no service. When I have been able to make a call, nobody can hear me then the call fails. Going to exchange for a Motorola V265 tomorrow and if that doesn't work, just going to get some new batteries for the old phones and live with them until they either improve phones, improve service or we get transferred out of the Springs.

Phone shows great reception (all bars solid), but calls drop within 1 minute, or the static is so bad you can't hear anything. Changed from TDMA to GSM for the free roaming, but now I can't even do a local call. Over 80 percent of the calls are dropped, and another 10 percent you can't hear the other person, with 10 percent being fine. Don't even think about GSM with AT&T (or Cingular) with the Motorola V180... Absolutely HORRIBLE! Could be the phone instead of the service too, so beware... You would think that they could test this stuff before selling you a plan with the phone wouldn't you???

Used to have a flip phone on AT&T / Cingular. Service was awful! I Was ready to eat the Early Cancellation fee when I heard about an older dealer downtown on Pikes Peak and Nevada. This guy told me he was the only one left that still field tested cell phones. He said 80-90% were awful, built for style and features; and that people would blame the service and it was the equipment all along (He said they blame the highway and not the car). He asked me what features I absolutely needed and then sold me one of the least expensive phones he had. What a difference! He may be a little blunt and direct for some(I think he's from New york) but by far the most honest knowledgeable sales person Ive seen in all the 5 years Ive been dealing with cellular. Now my phone works in many of the areas I thought were dead spots when I used my Motorola and LG flip phones. I converted all four of my families phones over. I highly reccomend this guy to anyone in Colorado. His hours are weird but worth the wait!

Had Verizon, no bars. Had repairman at house who was on cell phone, he had Nextel. Switched to Nextel, now have 4 bars easily. First time been able to use my phone at my house. What a relief. Highly recommend Nextel for Black Forest area. Reception in other areas of Black Forest and the city is great as well.
