Nextel has good reception in areas where my Verizon drops calls, but there is no coverage at all going down I-25 at Woodmen Rd. This is about the worst possible place for a dead spot.
I regularly commute between Woodland Park and Colorado Springs. Reception in Ute Pass is OK, but spotty (as expected), but once in the clear, reception is good. I've had no trouble around most areas in the Springs. Reception inside my building on the NW part of town is good. Reception from the Springs to Ft. Collins is generally good. I get very few dropped calls. When they do drop, I notice the signal simply drops out completely - then pops back. This may occur when changing from one cell to another??
Good reception except on parts of Uintah and into Manitou. Dropped calls often enough to be annoying. Sporadic reception in my house. I'd be happy to switch when my contract ends.
I have wonderful reception it is the company's imcompitance that drives me through the celling. We pay our bill on time all the time, I have a 450 min. a month plan. I need no more and at this point I have over a 1000 roll over minutes. They have been charging us by the minute, even our mobile to mobile time and calls that don't exist. Dealing with this and more since we had signed the contract (this being the only reason we are still with them) we finally were under the impression everything was sorted. This morning I find out the discontinued our service for lack of payment and being "so far over due" I would never recommend this service to anyone for any reason. This kind of treatment makes me want to return and stick with a land line!
I am so unhappy. I went from reliable AT&T TDMA to Cingular GSM after the change over. I can get 5 bars in most of town but I can only talk for about ten minutes at any point before the phone drops the call. I have never had a call that was over 15 minutes that didn't drop. The bars dwindle to 1 and then the call drops. As soon as the call drops the phone goes back to 5 bars. AAAAARRRRGGGGH! This is the second v551. I had the first replaced as a warranty problem after 25 days. This happens in Denver / Aspen / Colorado Springs on the highway / at my house etc. I really want to go back to TDMA, it worked and only dropped when there was no tower. Now I am stuck with a 2 year GSM plan. Never again.
Have had lots of luck with Verizon as far as reception until I bought a new LG 6000. Now I can't get reception anywhere in town without the calls breaking up or being dropped. I have had the software updated and had the phone in for repairs. As of yet the reception is still very poor.
