Alltel sucks. I moved here from FLorida and they told me that it would work out here fine and it SUCKS! I had to switch plans because I got no reception and all my calls were dropped. it was rediculous! I would NOT recommend having Alltel in this state! Sprint is awesome! I get calls everywhere!

My cell phone usually shows a decent signal (3-4 bars) and yet I still get multiple dropped calls almost everytime I talk (whether at home, driving, walking, shopping, etc.) on my cell phone. It's extremely frustrating and I am tired of all the DROPPED calls. I've been a faithful customer with AT&T since 2005 but don't feel they are doing enough to expand their tower coverage. It's time to switch carriers!

AT&T + iPhone any model + Denver ='s worst cell reception in the cosmos! (Congress Park close to National Jewish Hospital) Seriously takes at least 5-6 calls to carry on a 10 minute conversation. Dropped and gargled calls every day! Try to leave a VM and people say all they heard was static or breaking up... AT&T and Apple both refuse to remedy this. Consistently have one bar... one bar!

We've had our Motorola Razrs for about 8 years. They're outdated so we're updating to the iPhone 4S. Our service with ATT over these years has been consistently good except for the static we get on voice calls. We've had very few cases of not being able to dial out or receive calls from our home at Sheridan and 52nd. Occasionally, we might get a "network busy" indication, but the auto-dial always connects on the 2nd try. We are very confident that our phones will always be able to send and receive calls. In general, we've not noticed that the reception at 52nd and Sheridan is any different from elsewhere in the Denver Area. We're going to upgrade to the iPhone in which ATT is the only 4G carrier at the moment I think. Hope we don't make a mistake by not going with Sprint who consumer report's seems to think is godlike in Denver. But the reviews on this site would seem to indicate something else... strange times these are indeed. Maybe pigs will fly soon.

It's great but does not work in my apartment for crap or basements. I was going to switch, but every review for the other carriers seems worse than At&t. There are some dead spots but overall is pretty good and the 3G is faster than most other carriers in general...

I've had AT&T for almost 5 years now. I rarely get dropped calls. However, their phone selection is limited. If you aren't in the market for an iPhone or Blackberry other providers have better phones. Customer Service is also an issue with AT&T because they are always changing their rate plans and feature options and increasing the price with no lower price alternatives. So if all you are looking for is good reception, I do recommend AT&T.

I like my iphone but not happy with AT&T, use to have Sprint and had no problem. I switched to an iphone and AT&T, had decent signal at my house now its horrible. There are so many dead spots in the Denver Highlands and along Hwy. 36. I know when I am about to hit one and tell people. I have AT&T, I'm going to lose you, I'll call you back. Come one and fix it.

Service is terrible - I can be sitting perfectly still and calls drop. I cannot get coverage in most of the house and only spotty service when in the backyard. We have complained repeatedly with no success. We got a micro-cell to help with the signal - shows more bars, but calls still drop. Giving up on AT&T after 10 years...

In my area (near downtown), AT&T's service is like the wind: it comes and goes. Once in a while, I have a nice uninterrupted phone conversation, but the majority of my calls are dropped within a minute or two. It's totally unacceptable for a service that costs 95 bucks a month. If AT&T had a face, I would punch it.

I have a HTC inspire, supposedly one of the best smart phones available. I had been back to ATT 3x in one day because all I have gotten in my house is 1 bar if that. Im from the east coast and rarely had this problem. Come on ATT Denver, work on your reception and towers!

Terrible dead zone in this area for my iPhone 3G. I have a six square foot area in my apartment where I can get 1 bar with calls dropped after approximately ten minutes, and otherwise it's a no-go.

My 3 consumer cellular phones quit getting service this week (after 5 years with no problems) so I bought a prepaid phone from ATT. The ATT phone will not work at my house either(but will work at their store 1 mile away). Who has the tower this week? I will buy service if the cell companies would just let you know whos will work. I can't afford to sign up for every company untill I find one that works. There should be laws aginst this kind of rip off.

Sun Dec 05, 2010 |
Our family moved to within 5 blocks of Invesco Field a little over a year ago. Anytime there is any event at the field we have no reception from our home for approximately 7 hours, 2 hours before the game, the game, and up to 2 hours after the game. No texting; no talking. Our service the rest of the time is marginal at best. I have spoken with AT&T's customers service personnel and tech support. I was informed that coverage for my area was moderate and that the towers were probably getting jammed up during events. I mentioned that 4 of my brothers have Verizon and they don't have service problems at my house during games or at any other time. The tech guy saw no solution to our problem and so I asked him if he was suggesting that I switch to Verizon so my phone will work at home. At first he didn't reply. Later he told me that he would never suggest leaving AT&T for another service. Someone told me that there is a law about cell phones and their providers. It is supposed to be something to the affect of if you can't use your cell phone at home then you can get out of your contract. I'm going to check into it.

I (try to) use my AT&T phone for business. Calls take anywhere from 20 seconds to over a minute to connect during the day. I have come to dread 5PM conference calls. The bars on my phone will go from 2 to "searching". Last week it took five minutes to lock onto a signal and then the call dropped after five minutes. Several times this past week I've had to use my personal cell phone (Sprint) just to be able to make a meeting. I've only seen three bars about twice on my phone. On average there are two bars. When I looked at the AT&T coverage map, I see I am a half a block too far north of the "best" coverage. I don't find their "second-best" coverage at all adequate. I was so frustrated on Thursday that I called Customer Service to complain (silly me, just added to the frustration). Are there mountains or large trees near my location? Uh, I live in Denver, so yes... . How is my service away from this location? It doesn't matter since I need my phone to work at my current location... .. The rep offered to turn me over to trouble-shooting but after five minutes of a less than helpful conversation I had to get on another conference call, so I declined. I've had service for 7 months and will be dropping them to move to another carrier. It's worth it to me to pay the early termination fee just to not have to deal with them anymore. My Sprint phone seems to work whenever I need it to so I'll be adding another line with them.

As many before me have stated, AT&T coverage in downtown Denver is a joke. Probably 50-75% of my calls have issues (dropped, poor quality, fail). I have had the service for not quite 2 years, live downtown and have had nothing but problems. Trading in for a new phone, new SIM card, changing battery or "resetting network" has not helped. Customer service has gotten a little better about dealing with it, but the problem still remains. A "genius" at Apple told me downtown Denver has one of the worst coverage problems for AT&T in America. His words, not mine. This is not what I signed up for when I bought my phone.

I am waiting for my AT&T contract to expire in one month, and I am FINISHED with them. For the last 2 years, I have HORRIBLE reception and drop at least 50% of all calls. I can't stand it! They've made me crazy!
