Have had Verizon for years and have always loved the service. Since moving to my current location 2.5 years ago, my reception has been terrible. According to Verizon, this is a known dead zone and that there is nothing they can do. Was then told that there are too many cell towers in the area. Don't really know what to think.

have had Verizon for years. Live east of Green Mtn. Used to be pockets here and there which were tolerable as long as I know where they were. Couple years ago they put up a new tower at top of Utah and reception improved greatly! all of a sudden this past year it has gotten worse than it ever was.. I have to go upstairs in my bathroom near the window to have a conversation. Not sure what happens but seems to be true with all carriers for that area.. I've asked friends to try at my house with their carriers and not any better.. SUCKS! Not sure what to do and I want to drop my land line but cannot til they get this better or find a carrier who does work.. need a new phone but not tying into another 2 yr contract with Verizon until I find a solution.. grrrrrrr... ... ... .

I can only call from one place in my workplace. I have to stay very still in one spot or go outside. I called Verizon a few times on this and they updated the program, then they said they would go to a higher level investigation. I will ask for a tier 3 service call since I have read about here. I since their are 4-6 co-workers in a room and only one phone we depend on our cell phones for personal calls etc. It is very inconvenient and insane to pay so much for phone service you can not use.

I'm in the top floor of one of the taller buildings in d / t and have little to no coverage in my office. My phone will show 4 bars or more when I go to dial a number but as soon as the call connects it drops down to 1 bar. If the call doesn't get dropped then I can hear 1 out of every 4 words from the person on the other end. Pretty horrible coverage in downtown Denver for the most part.

I have called Verizon 3 times now, and as of 7 / 25 / 09, they say they lost a lease on a tower and are working to improve the service, but since it is marginal, they are willing to release me from my contract. WORST reception ever! I called Verizon and asked for a "TIER 3" service call. This is when they bring a truck out to your neighborhood and test signal. The CSR on the phone was sooooo surprised that I knew what a Tier 3 service call was, and kept trying to ask if they could help. Be persistent and say you want Tier 3 check. Verizon said give them 5 days and they would call back. NEVER DID. After two weeks I did called Verizon again. Asked for a Tier 3, the CSR did say they drove into area, determined coverage was "Spotty at Best" and said it "IS A KNOW DEAD SPOT" and we have no plans of correcting it. Sorry. Tell all your friends to call and ask for a Tier 3. Maybe if 3,000 people in the area finally do, they might get better service.

Rated "Poor" until the call is answered, then DROPS to "0"(No Reception). Can You Hear Me Now ??! What a Joke! Obviously Sales and Service Depts. don't talk to each other. Maybe they use Verizon!? Talking to a "Service Rep." doesn't help either. They all hem and haw and have 47 reasons / excuses as to why there's not an adequate Signal. It all comes down to the same thing ~ they Don't Care ! They have you locked into a Contract for two(2) years and if you don't like it, tough on you, just send the money. Take a look at the Tower Map. Is there any wonder why we can't get a Signal?? And, as long as they have our money, why should they spend it on such mundane things as "Service" Towers? "Can you hear me now". The State of the Art ~ It Ain't! I wonder if the CIA gets the same quality service at the Federal Center or does something else apply?? Nice "Hearing" From You!

Terrible reception. Have lived in the area for almost 10 years and have enjoyed good reception with Nextel and decent reception with AT&T. Made the mistake of switching to Verizon. Unless I am standing on a certain corner of my YARD, I can't even pick up messages. Have called numerous times and cannot get any assistance for the matter. In the surrounding blocks I can get some reception, usually one block is good, then the next one is bad. Normally have to drive about 1 mile before I can get a quality signal. If you live in the NE Denver area (Green Valley Ranch), do not get Verizon... .

My apartment is right next to a power switching station which is the reason Verizon gave me for my poor reception. I have to stand next to the window to get any signal and the call is dropped 9 out of 10 times. Reception elsewhere is fairly decent. While I know reception is dependent on a host of factors, many of the comments I've read on this site seem to indicate that overall, Denver has a hugh amount of dead spots. Is the problem geographic? I doubt it. Why can't cell phone service be more reliable? The way we do it in the United Statesm, cell phones are still a novelty instead of a reliable communications device.

They acknowledge it is a poor area and say they have no plans to improve it. Other cell users say most carriers have the same problem here. The nearest cell tower that I know of is 2+ miles away. There is an ideal site 1 / 4 mile away but Verizon says they arent interested in improving service here.

We've been with Verizon for two years. We've gotten average to decent reception in our house, except that I usually have to stand by a south window if I'm calling long distance. However, I can call my friends long distance while hiking in the foothills around Boulder (Shadow Canyon, Bear Mountain, Sanitas) and was able to call my friends visiting Golden from the mouth of the Big Thompson Canyon. Was also able to get decent reception in Estes Park. Also have had good reception in other states, except for some isolated National Parks areas or deep rock canyons (Escalante / Grand Staircase, some parts of the San Juans). Few dropped calls; do have to move around sometimes to get good reception. Changing batteries once a year might help; ours are two years old and not holding charges as well anymore.

Everyone who has Verizon that comes over has the same problem, so I'm pretty sure it's not my phone. I'm about to drop Verizon since my 2 year contract just finished and I plan to tell them that it's because they basically have no coverage where I live (seems odd to tell them that since they seem to generally have good coverage). I'm planning to switch to Cingular - several people with Cingular have used their phones in my house with no problem.

I have had problems at home since I switched to Verizon last year. Reception breaks up constantly - have to repeat myself and callers need to do same. Verizon had me reprogram phone several times but did not help. Now working out of home most of the time so this is a real problem. Verizon sucks in this entire neighorhood. Finally, after much work, Verison confirmed that this area has a known service and reception problem - why don't they tell you that up front! - and that they have a new tower scheduled to go in at 17th and Logan but said it could be 6 months to 2 years! NOTE: they have agreed to let me out of my contract because of this! FURTHER NOTE: With the new EV phones, the bars for reception are USELESS unless you have two sets of bars, one for voice and for EV. My understanding is only a few phones have the dual bars - since most of the SOBs just put one set on the phone you don't know what kind of reception you're getting for voice - the bars are useless.

No more dropped calls, calls going straight to vail, no more getting my vmail the next day or possibly even a week later, people can hear me clearly without having to shout and the coverage area is much better. I was in the mountain town of Silverthorne, Co for 4 days during Thanksgiving and my Verizon phone never died even though it was on all the time and being used moderately. With Sprint my fully charged phone would be nearly dead in 1 day because it was constantly roaming and searching for a signal. This was without any use as well. Verizon > Sprint

constant dropped calls... verizon says it's because they have too many towers in this vicinity and the phones get confused... brb, I just saw another turnip truck to fall off.

2-3 bars at best. Calls drop sometimes over about 70 feet south of the corner of Alameda and Quebec by the cemetery. I live just south of Bayaud on Syracuse and my reception disappears in my garage, my kitchen, and sometimes in my loft - I suspect the tower is resetting pretty often. I know of all the carriers that Nextel seems to be the only carrier that gets decent reception - they have a Nextel store over here on campus over at Town Center, and they own a lot of towers over off of Leetsdale and Monaco by the bowling alley. (A Denver PD communications supervisor says it sucks because their 800MHz radios go dead when they get a lot of Nextel calls in the neighborhood - Nextel uses the low 800MHz frequencies which are different than most everyone else which are about 850 MHz or higher.) I have had people tell me that Cingular gets next to nothing, Sprint PCS gets at best 'anywhere from the 'martini glass' to 3 bars', and T-Mobile gets 'nothing' from a customer who works over at the credit union. I have a cellularly monitored security system from ADT and my poor installer had to go two stories up into my attic in my townhome to get, at best, 84% signal strength. I suspect its a CDMA system, but don't quote me. I have been told by old AT&T customers, with old TDMA handsets, that they didn't have dropped calls over at the nasty drop out spot at Ala. and Quebec, but haven't any idea. (I still think they'd do well to do a 'fake tree' tower, a la Monument Hill, over at the cemetery - give the people buying plots over near it a cut on the real estate - and think of how much money they'd make! - Or why isn't Covad putting in some antennas on top of their building? Zoning? After all, their newest product focus is wi-fi mesh... ya'd think?!?) I used to get up to 5 bars in my old place over off of Bayaud and Fairmount, which dropped to at best 3 in the past 2 years. What happened? Grrrr... we finally got Vonage for the house and use it at home - saves minutes and occasional frustration - at least our Verizon phones work great when we go fishing in Granby... go figure)

Verizon is great elsewhere, but I've noticed that with 2 bars or less it's a total crap shoot in Park Hill. Even when I am outside it's not that great.

East side of the park has excellent reception. The west side, however, and the park itself, have poor reception (1-2 bars), with a lot of static and dropped calls.

I have very poor reception at my home in the area near Alameda and Monaco Blvd. I constantly have dropped calls and incoming calls often times go straight to voicemail without ringing. The phone switches between 1-2 bars and occasionally goes from 1x to analog. It may be the phone, however. A friend who visits the house gets fair reception from Verizon with his cheap Nokia phone.

For some reason, the Albertsons on 48th and Chambers in Mont Bello has this vortex around it that cuts off any and all conversations, quite rudely, I might add.
