Sat Dec 11, 2004 |
Just got Cingular with Motorola V551. One bar in upstairs of house. No bars in basement. One to three bars outside of house; number of bars varies while I stand still. A lot of dropped calls at house, 120th and I-25, 38th and Federal. Cingular customer service is poor. I had old Nokia with Verizon and could get reception in basement and very few dropped calls. Some dropped calls at Mississipi and Kipling. In June 2004 I tried new LG VX4500 with Verizon. Lots of dropped calls and exceptionally poor reception. I took it back after 1 week and went to my old Nokia. Might do that again.

I get very poor reception at home. If I walk across the room during a call my connection breaks. From looking at the other comments, the problem seems to be that I live west of City Park. I have tried Qwest, AT&T and now Sprint, with the same results from all three companies.

While driving on Alameda near Green Mountain, my signal always drops. Also, live off W. Warren near Rooney Elementary and phoe constantly drops calls or calls go straight to voicemail. Called AT&T to complain twice and the calls dropped each time.

Zero reception in interior of building - 2-3 bars near outside of building. Always see people talking on cells in elevator and parking garage but I have zip for receptions, as do all the T-Mobile users in our office.

It's so bad because my phone almost never works at home, if someone calls me usually it will jus tgo straight to voicemail and it never even rings. When I try to make calls it usually takes many times to complete a call and they always drop.

These two new, nationally acclaimed neighborhoods located in the middle of the city of Denver have little to no reception with AT&T (TDMA or GSM). I lose reception intermittently from 23rd & Syracuse and lose it completely at my house in Lowry (Syracuse & 11th Ave.). You can't hold or pick up a call at all in the house. I've heard that the TDMA network is no longer maintained, yet GSM is no better. Other carriers have the same problem in this area.

No reception inside my building, and little or no reception until you get at least 50 feet away from it. All other providers have no problems even in the building, but this is a serious dead spot for Sprint.

They must have added a new tower somewhere here, because last year the reception was horrible at the high school, now I get service throughout the school with hardly a dropped call.

I live on campus at Johnson and Wales University. My entire family has Nextel in Texas and I can not use my only way of communication with them. There is a bunch of people on campus including me that do not get service at all in the dorms. And there is a few spots that you might get a single bar.

In fact, all along Monaco which is the central street running from tech center to 6th Ave., reception sucks. Try driving to the airport on Penn Blvd. and not drop call at least 5 times.

I love this phone (with its quad-band GSM) and the T-Mobile service. I get excellent reception and no dropped calls. With my previous phone and service provider (Panasonic Allure, AT&T Digital network), reception was poor and calls were dropped constantly - very irritating.

Hideous reception in the Northwest section of Denver. And to think that the locals petitioned T-Mobile from placing an antennae a couple of blocks away.

I have very poor reception at my home in the area near Alameda and Monaco Blvd. I constantly have dropped calls and incoming calls often times go straight to voicemail without ringing. The phone switches between 1-2 bars and occasionally goes from 1x to analog. It may be the phone, however. A friend who visits the house gets fair reception from Verizon with his cheap Nokia phone.
