Can ANYONE from AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile explain why they can't add additional Cell Towers in this area? All are rated terrible in 80210 - and looking at the Tower map it's easy to see why. There's NO TOWERS between University and Federal! I suspect the spotty coverage issue is the terrain - the local hills / valleys in the area - so PLEASE request them to add some additional Towers or at least Repeaters to fill in the 'valleys'! I did a recent test. No bars outside my home - and all I did was drive up Iowa away from Broadway, up this slightly upward sloping street, and I can see the bars start to climb, and as I finally get within a block and a half of Downing, its at 5 bars. 0 bars to 5 bars traveling 5 blocks up the street. How costly could a Repeater antenna be to fill in the coverage for the lower areas? - I'd volunteer the roof of my house for free!
This is my second post. My ATT cell phone service is poor to none. I've spoken to ATT Customer service each week for the three weeks that I've been in Denver. Although they are quite pleasant about the whole thing and assure me the problems with dropped calls, "call not allowed", poor reception have all been corrected, they have not. I am now considering the "breach of contract" argument, since they have told me I am within a mile of a tower yet cannot use my cell phone service.
I would recommend NOT buying an iPhone because of the poor (as in NO SERVICE at times) AT&T signal. What good is a phone if you cannot make or receive calls??
Reception getting worse and worse, not only in my house and home office but around the Denver area. I do not even get EDGE 90% of the time let alone 3G service. Drop calls no voice mail etc... Its a joke at this point and calling ATT does nothing however I have started to call every week. I have 6 min of talk time on my Aug bill.. on the flip side I have a T-Mobile phone as well and perfect service full bars no dropped calls...
My reception has steadily degraded over time. When we first got the iPhone, reception was fine - not perfect at home - but solid and useable. I had very few dropped calls at home, but now service is absolutely horrible! I upgraded the software to 3.0 (3GS software version) but kept older iPhone. At first, there wasn't any change, then slowly but surely over time service has degraded where I can't get calls at home. Downtown, 3G service is a joke. In a major metropolitan area, the fact that I can't get perfect service most of the time is pathetic. I am really frustrated with AT&T. I have a hard time believing this is an Apple problem because I have used Apple products for years and have consistently had good to excellent experiences. I know that Apple is not perfect, but the track record is good and AT&T has a history of being obnoxious to customers. I really hope this gets fixed because I really like the iPhone.
I have very poor AT&T signal strength at 14th and Cook street. Failed calls, dropped calls, and very poor quality when a call is completed. I love the iPhone device itself but it is supposed to be a PHONE! I want to talk on it! I had better coverage (far better) when I was in little towns in the middle of nowhere.
I, too, am having problems with my ATT service in Denver, having recently moved from Los Angeles. Problems include poor to no reception, dropped calls, inability to make calls ("Not allowed" messages). I called ATT customer service, and they admitted they have been having problems throughout the Denver and Boulder areas and they have received over 500 complaints in August. The CS rep said that they are working on the tower. Keep the complaints coming...
AT&T's service continues to decline. The service at 8th and Washing is horrible. It can go from full bars to zero bars in a matter of seconds. Dropped calls all the norm. I have talked with AT&T three different times, and they insist it is my phone, and their coverage is perfect in this area. My phone works elsewhere (most of the time) but does not work in Capitol Hill. I was told that AT&T will not doing anything unless they have "several complaints registered" (meaning email). PLEASE... if you have service troubles with AT&T send them an EMAIL. I am sending one every week until they actually listen to their PAYING CUSTOMERS.
There only used to be 1 dead zone for me in Bear Creek Village neighborhood (I visit family there often) until some company(ies) put up a dozen or so new cell towers all over Green Mountain and now I have 4 dead zones that I know about: On Alameda Pkwy. near Green Mountain high school, 2 on the loop around Bear Creek Village and one going East on Morrison road as it goes down the hill towards Fox Hollow golf course. I used to have AT&T years ago and they had signal all over Green Mountain (except 1 dead zone on Union). Wonder if they are any good yet? I am looking to change soon.
