Since I purchased the Iphone 3g in July '08 I have had issues with consistent 3g coverage, but the edge network would work most of the time. For the past week, however, I have been dealing with a phone that consistently drops calls all over the Denver metro area. AT&T tech support says every day that there are towers with "degraded service" and quote a time later that evening for a repair. Nothing as of yet has been restored to normal service. I just obtained a service credit but am unable to use my phone until I get out of the Denver downtown area. For instance, driving out to DIA, I cannot make a call that doesn't drop until I get to I70 and Colorado Blvd. Before that point, whether downtown near 16th st. mall or near Cheesman park, every call disconnects within 30 seconds. I find it disappointing that there is a disconnect between the technicians working on issues and the tech support line. If I were given an idea of what was going on, perhaps I could have more patience.
Get almost no reception in apartment. Live in the basement and if I hold real still I might get a signal but then I can't move, talk or breath cause I'll loose it.
I have used ever phone under the ATT sun, including a $400 iPhone and a Blackberry. It NEVER has any bars in my house and rarely works even around my street. ATT has been awful about this and lost a customer of 15 years. Verizon though works fabulous. And they are cheaper.
Constant dropped calls or going straight to voice mail and not ringing at all---all this AFTER AT&T bought out Cingular! You mean to tell me that the largest network in the country can't put more towers in the Capitol Hill area (where a large portion of people use this service) And if you're one day late in paying your bill--boy do they find reception to find YOU!
WORST reception ever! I called Verizon and asked for a "TIER 3" service call. This is when they bring a truck out to your neighborhood and test signal. The CSR on the phone was sooooo surprised that I knew what a Tier 3 service call was, and kept trying to ask if they could help. Be persistent and say you want Tier 3 check. Verizon said give them 5 days and they would call back. NEVER DID. After two weeks I did called Verizon again. Asked for a Tier 3, the CSR did say they drove into area, determined coverage was "Spotty at Best" and said it "IS A KNOW DEAD SPOT" and we have no plans of correcting it. Sorry. Tell all your friends to call and ask for a Tier 3. Maybe if 3,000 people in the area finally do, they might get better service.
Terrible reception for three different phones. T-Mobile said we are located in between two coverage areas. Customer service is very good, but we still have to go elsewhere to make calls.
It's acrap shoot weather or not I can get a call off at all or the signal is so poor I can't hear on the call at all. Most of the time I have to stand on my 2nd floor balcony just to make a call. I never had this issue with Sprint.
I work at Lowry. We put in a $25 paste on passave repeater antenna in our first floor window. IT WORKS! Now I get 4 bars. Before I got 1. Still, why should I have to do this? They could have put a tower near the old Quebec and 6th Ave entrance. Due to the hill there, you loose signals. At the top of that hill, just after the new houses, is a perfect spot for campus wide coverage. We will put in more of these stick on antennas in other windows to be able to use our phones. Everyone is on different carriers. Same problems. But our patch helps.
