Have great reception in area that I travel around Lakaewool. Even at The Mills at West Colfax Ave and Indiana Ave. Great reception and no drop call at Wadswort and Kipling. The best service in this area. Some family members use AT&T and drop call all the time
I had been using Sprint for aprox 1.5 yrs with no problems. I bought a house in Green Valley Ranch. Since then I get lots of dropped calls in my house and in this neighborhood. I can be sitting on my couch and go from no service to 3 bars - even to roaming WITHOUT EVER MOVING. I am definitely ending my service this month when it expires and probably switching to T Mobile.
When going west from W. Mississippi on W. Alameda Pkwy. all calls are dropped. I can resume making calls somewhere near W. Alameda Pkwy. and W. Jewell Ave. So, for a mile to a mile and a half there is no reception. It can all be blamed on Qwest though. I once had Nextel service using a Motorola 88i phone and the same thing occured. So, It behooves all cell service carriers to provide more towers to compensate for the physical hill, i.e., Green Mountain.
Terrible service in the Green Mountain area, horrible customer service. Refused to credit when a lost phone was "found" by someone other than our family and about $100 worth of music was download (After we'd reported it lost and asked them to cut off service)
Terrible reception. Have lived in the area for almost 10 years and have enjoyed good reception with Nextel and decent reception with AT&T. Made the mistake of switching to Verizon. Unless I am standing on a certain corner of my YARD, I can't even pick up messages. Have called numerous times and cannot get any assistance for the matter. In the surrounding blocks I can get some reception, usually one block is good, then the next one is bad. Normally have to drive about 1 mile before I can get a quality signal. If you live in the NE Denver area (Green Valley Ranch), do not get Verizon... .
My apartment is right next to a power switching station which is the reason Verizon gave me for my poor reception. I have to stand next to the window to get any signal and the call is dropped 9 out of 10 times. Reception elsewhere is fairly decent. While I know reception is dependent on a host of factors, many of the comments I've read on this site seem to indicate that overall, Denver has a hugh amount of dead spots. Is the problem geographic? I doubt it. Why can't cell phone service be more reliable? The way we do it in the United Statesm, cell phones are still a novelty instead of a reliable communications device.
coverage in this area was poor until recentley. Sprint has added a new cell cite in the area which has significantly improved coverage in this neighborhood. phone even works reasonably well in the basement now. wireless data connection is now reliable if not blazing fast. there is an additional tower coming on line within the next several weeks that is even closer and should make coverage superb.
Alltel sucks. I moved here from FLorida and they told me that it would work out here fine and it SUCKS! I had to switch plans because I got no reception and all my calls were dropped. it was rediculous! I would NOT recommend having Alltel in this state! Sprint is awesome! I get calls everywhere!
