I've had Verizon for about 8 years and never had a problem until I moved here from Virginia. I've spoken with my neighbors, and virtually no one on my block gets decent cell reception, when they get any at all. This is especially frustrating because I was hoping to get the new iPhone soon, but I don't even see the point in getting such an expensive phone if it's virtually useless. From people's comments, there's no point in even switching to Sprint, which I was tempted to do for their unlimited plan. Come on, cell phone companies. Shape up and realize your southwestern customers are unhappy.

Almost impossible to complete a call. AT&T connection out here was rock solid but switching to Verizon has almost completely destroyed our reception!

I love Verizon! It's more reliable than my comcast connection, so I canceled comcast and I just tether my Thunderbolt for Internet. I'm glad foco finally has 4g! Couldn't be happier.

Weak signal most of the time! No connection today. Usually only 1 or 2 bars on my Thunderbolt at home or at work by the Fort Collins / Loveland airport. It slips in and out of 3G mode. Sometimes I get 4G mode. I have to turn on wifi at home to get a reliable connection. On vacation last week I got 5 bars and solid 3g east of Sturgis and strong signal all over the Black Hills in South Dakota. You would think they would have better coverage here than there.

Many many dropped calls from this area and poor reception overall. Verizon should be ashamed of this, it is a highly populated area about 1.5 miles from downtown Ft. Collins.

Satisfied for the most part. Dropped calls happen only once in a great while. Some calls are difficult to understand because of choppy voice but that could be a combination of several things.

It really varies alot around town. My new house is actually better than my old one was by City park. I regularly get some garbling of my caller's voice and have to listen carefully and ask them to repeat things often. Verizon must have discontinued a few towers on the north end of town in the last year or 2 because it used to be better.

Some dropped calls from my house and a lot of breaking up. I have to go outside to the middle of the yard for fair reception. Does not work at all in the mall on College. Great on I-25 but drops service altogether on Hwy. 14 between Ft. Collins and Ault. I have also had, in the past 4 years, Sprint and AT&T. I think overall Verizon worked better but their phone costs are so high for what you get I think I'll go back to AT&T.

Generally pleased with Verizon. Good coverage in general around Fort Collins and up and down I-25 (I've never had a dropped call when outside or in my car anywhere in Fort Collins). I've also been very pleased with nationwide coverage when traveling, and FWIW Verizon customer service is pretty decent. Unfortunately, one of the weakest areas in FC that I've run into is right near our house in Parkwood East. There, the signal is weak but usable around our home and inside on the main floor and upstairs, but not usable in the basement. Signal improves significantly within 1 / 2 mile in any direction. Notably, our older Motorola v710 phones would work OK in the basement, but not the Motorola Q smartphones.

Shields and Moutain, Fort Collins, CO 80521 Wed Sep 20, 2006

Mountain St.West of Shields has poor reception (1 or 2 bars). Sometimes by standing outside or in the street we can get up to 3 bars. There is a tower at the BBall diamonds 4 blocks from us, but not clear if Verizon uses this, and it does not help us.

This is the phone you get a break on from Verizon if you lose your old one. Horrible propensity to drop calls along Stuart, Lemay, Elizabeth... At home (near Taft Hill and Prospect) calls frequently go straight to voicemail. Coverage on CSU campus is generally better.

We live on top of a small hill with good line-of-sight to one tower 1.4 miles E and another 1.5 miles West of us. However, cell bars (of 5 Verizon service phones in the house) are usually 1-2 bars. Calls are dropped and go uncompleted. Sometimes, we can stand outside and get another bar, but coverage is very poor. Verizon told us that there was no improvement possible. We are considering a roof-mounted antenna and repeater system for our house-but why should we pay $500 for Verizon' service problems? By the way, Verizon's coverage hole for S Fort Collins straddles LeMay Ave all the way north to Boardwalk. Also, there's no coverage once you get into the small foothills West of town.

Great quality and reception! No real issues.. Some blds. I go into the bars go down other than that perfect. Only grip would be the outlined areas (i.e. greeley, loveland) reception drops a little if you get away from I-25 to much. Stay close to the 25 and every thing is perfect!
