We had years where we had lots of dropped calls, and it was quite frustrating but reception seems to have improved in the last few months. It's best not to be inside or near any rocks when calling. Keeping in line of sight up to Black Ridge seems to be the key. Relatively good reception while driving to town through the Colorado National Monument.

With an exterior antenna we were getting perfect service until a storm Wednesday night. Now we have no service in the house and poor to average service if we stand on the roof. I called Nextel and they said they had no reports of a tower going out. I would really like to know how many towers they have in the Grand Junction area. I really suspect that where ever our signal was coming from was hit by lightning.
