We live a few blocks from Southglenn mall and have had horrible reception with Verizon wireless. I recently visited the store @ Southglenn and asked about the service in that area. The female representative and I can not make this up, told me that if you call Verizon and tell them that you have poor coverage, "they will send someone out to your home to do a drive by confirming poor reception and make ever effort to fix the problem" Really! She actually said it with a straight face! I recently checked that coverage map and just like the commercials it shows all red indicating digital coverage. This does not differentiate the quality of coverage in any specific area like Sprint does, but I guess that would be too much work! I can't wait for my contract to expire.. This is clearly what happens when we let a company get too big... oh that sounds familiar, maybe Verizon should be included in the Occupy movement. Afterall, we don't want a communication company to get so big that the government could not let them fail despite whatever actions they may take to suck out every penny so the shareholders can profit..right!

I get call failed or get hung up on when the person I call cannot hear me. Service in the valley sucks! AT&T's answer is for me to buy a cell tower for inside my home.

Interestingly I read above the person on Shoshone St. / 42nd, Denver, CO 80211 saying Verizon told her this was a know dead zone. That is the same thing the regional manager for Verizon told me. I work all over the front range in the construction business, in my home I have zero bars and drop calls consistently. However I also drop calls all of the time in all parts of the city and suburbs, from Elizabeth and Parker to Boulder and all points in between. I had terrible service with AT&T and switched to Verizon and the service is worse. Both have TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, and both screw up my bill monthly creating time and aggravation to straighten it out. The bill for my family plan is supposed to be $165 per month and through 2010 it averaged $235 per month and there is no reasonable explanation. I have to fight with them constantly with no resolution and I am tied into a 2 year contract that will expire next month. I WILL BE CHANGING. But to what I don't know. I hate all of these companies. They are all rip offs who over charge and treat their customers like cattle. A client told me he had the exact same experience with AT&T and Verizon and that T-Mobile had the best customer service and Sprint had the best coverage. I guess I will try one or the other next time. I know from an inside source who is a tech at one of the large companies that they all tend to oversell their capacity prior to building out their networks, meaning they will add customers until their system is so overloaded that it can't handle it and when things get to the ultimate breaking point they add capacity to their system and start the cycle all over again, overloading their systems etc... I will tell you this. If you become a Verizon customer plan on waiting 30 minutes to an hour every time you want to go into the store and get service. They under-man their stores as part of their business model. *uck the customer! ALSO they DO NOT fix or service their phones! I both 2 LG Dares for my kids and they both had a problem that is a known problem for these phones, which can be fixed but all Verizon would say is that an update wasn't available and I would have to purchase new phones. This company is a SCAM from beginning to end. Unfortunately I believe it is an industry epidemic. I doubt any of them are any different. I lived overseas from 1998 through 2007 and I can say I never had the problems I have had here. I can definitely tell you stay away from AT&T AND VERIZON! The rest I will have to find out one at a time. I hope I can find someone who is customer oriented, has great service and a fair price that they stick to and don't screw with every month trying to double their take.

Let me start off by saying I've been using cell phones in the denver area for the past 11 years. I have used AT&T (first 4 years), T-Mobile (next 3 years), and Sprint (last 4 years). Of the three T-Mobile was by far the worst and of the three Sprint has been by far the best. The only carrier I haven't used obviously is Verizon (the carrier almost all of my co-workers use) and from what I have seen Sprint and Verizon are pretty much on par with each other as the two best carriers in Denver. The thing that seperates it for me is that my bill is $30-40 less per month then my co-workers with similar plans through Verizon ($360-480 p / yr savings). Also, I just want to note that I use 3000 plus minutes per month all across the Denver metro area so my opinion should hold some weight. In all my time with Sprint I have only had one major area where I couldn't use my phone and that was my parents brand new house out off Smokey Hill and E-470. That issue was fixed when my dad was given an Airave device by Sprint and now when I visit my parents I get a consistent 4-5 bars in and around there house. Their customer service which once was a major pitfall for the company has now become top notch. So if you're looking to switch carriers and you want top notch service I highly recommend giving Sprint a shot. P.S. I don't work for Sprint... just love their pricing and coverage in Denver and actually everywhere I have traveled over the past 4 years.

Except for a dead spot at Ken Caryl and Wadsworth going North, Soputbound is fine, I VERY rarely drop calls. Sprint amazes me sometimes with where it will work when I go 4 wheeling in the mountains. However, just in the last few days, Pandora will not work in my neighborhood. 2 blocks away from my house, it starts right up. As soon as I turn into my neighborhood, it shuts down. Other apps work fine. Same thing with Slacker. This is annoying as hell, and Sprint is going to swap me into a different Blackberry. If this doesn't resolve the issue, I may be dumping Sprint after a little over 4 years.

overall good but they lied to me about whether I had to renew a contract to get text on all phones with unlimited texting. I got two $90 bills (in addition to the 158), and I hit the roof on the second, one guy said he would refund half of the second one, I called back to follow up on it and "there were no notes". Do not give a teeneager a Verizon phone without blocking the colored text crap. I have spent hours reconciling their little profit centers. I do not want to renew with them now.

Verizon is worthless on Orchard Rd.(called Long Rd.) between Colorado Blvd.and University and has no reception in the King Sooppers at Holly and Orchard. After numerous calls to Verizon, I finally switched to ATT / Cingular, which works well.
