All the promises of the best service... .Yeah, right! Ever since AT&T bought out our local Alltel, the service has been almost non-existent. They kept promising better service, and explaining that their network was running a 40%. More like 10%. I am going to switch to someone else, and it's so sad that the only alternative is Fn' Verizon! They have there own set of problems. Alltel was absolutely a pleasure to deal with... why does this kind of crap need to happen? More money for less service, and a "deal with it" attitude. Hwy. robbery!

I have AT&T, GSM service now since that's all they support anymore. Terrible shame, too: my TDMA phone had FANTASTIC service! The GSM service works GREAT in Salida and area, all the way to Coaldale but then not again until Canon City, then great all the way to Pueblo / C.Springs / Denver. But generally speaking, I say we need to file a Class Action suit against AT&T for no longer providing TDMA service, which was pretty reliable. Personally I would not even consider doing business with any of the other cell phone companies, they all SUCK: all of the people I know who have Verizon / Sprint / T-Mobile / CellOne do NOT have service as good as what I have now, which is unsatisfactory. All of us with AT&T are envied by the others who have the various other providers. None of us AT&T users would switch to any of the other services.

No major carriers have any reception going over about 7 miles of Poncha Pass. I've tried Verizon, ATT, Cingular, and Alltel with assorted phones, both digital and analog. Maybe a bag phone would work but a normal cell phone doesn't have any service.

Absolutely no receiption. Exceptionally disappointing when you are paying for a so-called national plan, and have always had coverage there in the past.

I have an external antenna that plugs directly into my phone. I always have reception from Salida to 1 mile west of Cotopaxi, from Hillside to Westcliffe, from Salida to Poncha Springs and up to Buena Vista (with one bad corner). I generally have reception almost to the top of Trout Creek pass as well.

Almost no reception anywhere in town! AT&T (Cing) uses "partner" towers in Salida. NO reception on HWY 50. Found strong signal by airport runway and east side of auto part store next to Wal-Mart. Horrible! Horrible. Changing service.

I have no reception around Cogan's curve near BV and no reception in the draws leading to the mesas on the west side of the valley. Also, there is an area on Hwy. 50 near Poncha Springs where reception is really spotty and wierd. Up in the mountains, for instance on CR 162 going to St. Elmo, there is no reception. Other than that, I get fairly good reception throughout the valley, even up to Leadville. With Verizon, the reception near the Vail and Silverthorne areas, all the way to Denver, is pretty good. I even got a call in the middle of the Eisenhauer Tunnel.
