Hwy. 9 Between Silverthorn and Kremmling, Silverthorne, CO 80498 |

Hwy. 9 between Silverthorn and Kremmling Sprint phone switches to Roaming in order to have service. All thought it does acquire service in roaming mode it is vary scarce on Hwy. 9 and it will not connect easy, must try many times before calls go though. The whole drive the phone switches between no service and 1 to 2 bars. The only place that it is easy to connect it is close to Kremmling at the gas station, but calls are still poor quality in roaming, and once back on the Hwy. service is gone / dropped calls heavily / no go thorough. But then again no Cingular, Verizon or Qwest phones (of friends that have driven along) works! I guess at least mine does try and have some what of a service!

Very spotty coverage in and around Summit County with virtually no signal from Silverthorne to Rabbit Ears Pass. Huge dead zone between Frisco and Breck.

There are a lot of people that live in this valley plus many access pts to the Gore range trail. Residents, highway traffic, hikers, skiers etc would sure love to have a tower put up for cell phone coverage in this area. If the tower was put over on the Williams Fork ridge approx 9 miles north of Silverthorne I believe it would cover a big area.
