Most of area good service, only problem is heading west on 69 towards Gardner This is common though for any service in the area -- Gardner has no towers and service is next to nothing. Cellular one is actually worst around the Waslenburg / Gardner area as for service. Nextel Service is in Walsenburg, thanks to service singals getting through from Pueblo Sprint PCS is supposedly good too, but I have not used their service. Basically anything West of twon within 10-15 miles service is sketchy, but may be doable. This IS because of the mountainous area. -Manuel

Trouble getting through alot. Once a connection is made, the reception is poor to good. Connection is made about 30% of the time.

I moved to Walsenburg June 1, 2011 and have had no problem with digital 1X and 3G reception on my girlfriend's phone in and around town. As of Monday, June 27th at 6 PM, her phone stopped getting signal in Walsenburg. It is now July 1, and I still do not get any signal at all. The phone just says "searching for service" and has zero bars and no 3G signal. I took the phone to two nearby cities, Pueblo and Colorado Springs, and it gets consistent service. I have called Virgin Mobile tech support every day since then. They have been pretty useless. They almost always ask me the same questions and ask me to try the same things each time. I finally talked to a supervisor today, and had to wait about 20 minutes on hold to get to talk to her. She told me this issue is very complex, and they are working on it. She also assured me they would call me (I provided her my Verizon number) when there is progress on this issue. I guess all I can do is wait and see. My girlfriend and I are serisously considering switching her to a different provider. I am completely dissatisfied with Virgin's customer service right now.
