Can't say anything more than "No Reception at my property or home" In Westcliffe, it OK if you hold your tongue right.

In general, service / reception was OK. There is no Edge or 3G data, but there is GPRS (soooooo slow--worse than dial-up!). Sometimes sitting in one place in town the signal would come and go, but for being up in the mountains, the service isn't too bad. Word on the street is that a nearby Alltel tower will be switching to AT&T in April 2011, so hopefully that will boost things up a bit (including data coverage).

verizon has gotten to big for their britches. I get no reception even though I can see the antenna on top of sugarloaf peak from my kitchen window. If you don't travel much Alltel is the way to go in the wet mountain valley. Verizon is taking advantage of its customers. They are often uncarring sometimes plain rude. Verizon will take your money and continue to have poor coverage in many areas that they sell coverage plans to customers. Let's not forget that Verizon opened their doors to your privacy by allowing the bush administration to spy on all of it's US customers.

Verizon generally SUCKS in this area and they have a sleazy refund policy.

Cellular One is the only carrier in the Westcliffe area that works. Coverage depends on your phone. My parents have Nokia 6150s that work pretty well in the outskirts. Also works in Pueblo, Canon City, Salida, etc. Good luck.
