Nextel doesn't work in Oxford Rt67 traveling from southbury I-84 until you get to Seymour. There is a cell tower between 42 and 67 but Nextel is not on it. Signal comes in on top of the Rt 42 hill going east into Beacon Falls below Woodland High School then goes dead by the factories. When you get to Rt 8 the service comes back from the Rimmon Hill Tower. I used to have Cingular which worked the best from Southbury through Oxford Rt 67 and lost signal on Rt 42 Pines Bridge Rd for a mile until I got to Rt 8.

Virginmobile which uses the Sprint Network works good on RT-42 from Oxford RT-67 to downtown BF. Sprint Tower is on CL&P powerline tower at Recreation center near RT-8 exit 24. Cingular has a bad blind spot at exit 24 RT-8, no reception until you get to Texaco station on Main St.or get past the exit if still going southbound. Too bad for cingular, the Sprint antennas are line of sight at the exit ramp. A proposed new tower is discussed for the recreation center so the town can get some income, I hope everyone gets on board so downtown Beacon Falls has good coverage with all carriers.

Cellphone tower is on south side of Rimmon Hill Road. Leaving Woodland High School on North side of Rimmon Hill area, no reception at bottom of hill RT 42. Sprint tower at Beacon Falls Recreation Center covers this area perfect right into town. A new tower was proposed at the Beacon Falls Rec which would cover the gap if Cingular gets on it.

Unable to keep reception in my apartment. My Nextel phone gets full coverage but my AT&T device I have to stand near the window to get any hope of service.

Good coverage in Beacon Falls. Heading out on Route 42 I discovered a few no service areas but they are brief.
