Average reception is TWO bars at the cul-de-sac area of Saint John St. We are located north east and north west of the two nearest towers which are located south of Center St. An Ideal location for another tpwer would in the Manchester Parkade area.

Very poor reception. Data services dont work here. Most calls get dropped.

Verizon LG VX8300 phone and others with Verizon get good signal here. My phone shows "1X" (4of4 bars). I use voice, text, data, gps. Good on I384, I84 as well. My friends with Cingular usually have problems right where I am (Pine St. / Pleasant St. 06040 area), but whatever. Most cellphones do cut out on route 83 South Main St. (Manchester Rd Glastonbury) for a few thousand feet. Its on the outskirts between two towns and its hilly and rural in that area. Generally, Verizon is great service.

When there is reception, it's strong and good. The only portion of Manchester that is poor for reception seems to be up north of the town, heading into Vernon / Rockville. However the amount of dropped calls per day is ridiculous. On a good day, my calls will be dropped approx. 5 times. This seemed to have started ever since AT&T bought Cingular out, and the problem hasn't ceased in persisting. I've called Cingular about this, and they tried to tell me it was my phone and not their service. I disagree because I tested out old Cingular phones I had, and the problem persisted regardless of which phone I use.

Between the South Windsor line on I-291 thru the 84 / 291 interchange there is no service on most days, every once in a while you can sneak thru with choppy reception. I also drop service on Oakland street and parts of Buckland Hills Dr.and the Buckland section of town. I am almost always in my truck and on the phone, I drop at least 6-8 calls a day in various portions of Hartford and Tolland County's

There is little to no reception between Manchester and Glastonbury on Rt 83 area. I am just 1 / 4 mile from downtown Manchester and I-384 and no bars outside. Very little reception in downtown Manchester. Their advertising said this area is cover, but it's not. That guy is really pissing me off! I wish they would get off this kick of offering TV, Music, E-mail, Videos and so on and just get what we really need a cell phone for, you know making calls that actually get to the person you are calling and not get drop incase the call actually makes it to the person you are calling and visa versa.

Reception is generaly good although a couple of months ago, a tower must have gone down for a couple of weeks because reception went down to 0 bars (only lasted a couple of weeks). It is back up and hopefully that won't happen again. Cingular seems to have the best reception here along with Verizon but Cingular has better phones. :-)

Lousy reception indoors. A little better outdoors, not much more than two bars.

Honestly, I think it's the phone. Because others with Cingular service at the same place have great reception. With the V551 I get absolutely nothing. So if you live in Manchester don't get a Motorola V551 because you will be severely disappointed.

Reception is ok normally, however when you go inside a building it drops every once and awhile. But not too bad...

Seems VERY much affected by trees / foliage. The only problem--sometimes the service in one spot is excellent and 2 minutes later--horrible.
