I always have great signal around New Haven. Cingular is better than any other wireless company. I have no problems of loosing signal and bars!

Cingular is one of the greatest because in many areas there are signal. Many of my friends have Verizon, T-mobile, and Sprint where they get mad because there is no signal.

Get coverage in elevators in my apartment. The voice quality is getting worse, more static than before. Verizon has the coverage where you need it.

Perfect reception next to campus.

Right now it's five bars... but it's patchy.

Great reception, but Cingular has absolutely horrendus customer service and the phone is a disaster, also. Locked into a 2 year contract and regretting it. I'll never sign a 2 year ever again, it's worth it to just pay for a phone.

Generally excellent reception in the New haven area. Calls get dropped usually between New Haven and the shoreline.

Good coverage for the last year throughout my house and up and down Whitney.

I'm a former ATT wirelss customers, now Cingular Blue. I had been getting decent coverage througout the state with marginal in-home service. Oddly, about a month ago, my in-home coverage dramatically improved. I had read here about issues with East Rock blocking some coverage in New Haven. I wonder what if any adjustments have been made.

Pretty good in Madison Towers. Good in most places in downtown. Poor signal in my laboratory building on Whitney and Humphrey (Bass building, Yale).

The reception is good. Sometimes the call quality is not that great. I find Verizon reliable and calls do not drop.

Great reception at Howe and Elm. Poor reception in hosptial, unless next to a window.

Great reception at home (Howe and Elm). Inconsistent service in YNHH. Especially if not right next to an elevator.

One or two bars most of the time

Reception tends to have heavy static unless right up against windows. Even outdoors, there is a good deal of static, particularly in residential areas away from the central campus. Hard to say if other carriers are any better, particularly in the grad ghetto area.

Pretty much no reception in the house unless near a window or skylight. Outside it's ok- at least able to keep a phone call (most of the time). Definitely no data at home- which is disappointing and frustrating!

AT&T Cingular has pretty much the WORST reception of any service carrier in New Haven. If you want to overpay for crappy cell phone service, then this is the service for you. Use Verizon. They are much better here.

I absolutely hate cingular. I dont know if it is my phone or them. I cant even get reception in my own house. every one I talke to on the phone, I cant talk to them more then 5 mins without my call being dropped, I am thinking about moving to Nextel or t-mobile.
