I would have to go to a window to send a text message. And if you wanted to call a parentyou had to go to the right side of the school and in the bathroom and stand on the toliet to call someone. It totally sucked (like near 7-3). I think they have a block becuase it only works if there is a window near by

My coverage is poor with Verizon here and I was thinking of switching carriers but I think ill be in the same situation with other carriers. I was just hoping! I really appreciate the Lecture given by Mr. Nextel with the post on 7 / 17... sounds like he / she has some real issues to work through with society.

I had to reprogram my phone so I could get better service; seem 0032. I get better service when my phone says "AT&T Wireless" as compared to "Cingular". There's a tower just up the hill from me... walk about 1 / 10 of a mile up and you have full service. I have decent service most anywhere else, but it has a buzz in the background a lot of the time. I ditto the fact that there is really good service (5 of 5) at the Big Y in Monroe, since I work there.

In most cases, the whole Park is a dead spot. There are a few spots throughout the Park where you might be able to get a bar or two. As a Park employee, myself and my fellow employees hunted for spots with service in the event we had to make an emergency call. The beach area tends to be the best spot since it is as far away from the hills of the valley as you can get without being in the river. This seems to be the same with most other carriers as well.

Excellent reception here but will vary dependent on altitude and terrain. Most cell phone users are not knowledgeable enough to understand that a cell phone is a full duplex two-way radio. Radio signal range at the frequencies used by cell phone companies are best when in a line-of-sight condition. All cell companies have nulls, dead spots, and people tend to get frustrated at that point in time. If they would use the cell phone when it's really needed and not for useless chit chat, they would realize it is helpful when it's really necessary. Look at a carrier for it's features and how those features really are benefits to your personal situation. Just because a phone has all these bells and whistles does not mean you need them. The carriers want your money and they bring out all the features beyond the basic phone call use so they can take more of your money. Is it really necessary to be backing up your car and yanking on the phone? Is it really necessary to be crossing an intersection on foor while yakking on a phone? Is it really a necessary to be blasting the Nextel Direct Connect on speaker phone in public for all to hear you silly conversation? Is it really a necessity to be walking around will that ear piece all day long, while driving, walking, and even eating lunch or dinner with others. You all look like the Bork from Star Trek with that thing in your ear. The answer is No if you think about the last really important aspect of the last cell phone call you were involved in. That's the way I see it.
