Starting 2 days ago, Sept 8, 2011, AT&T's nearest tower began to not locate my 2G phone at home for all incoming calls, sending them all directly to voicemail. And text receipts / sends lag by about 2 to 5 hours. Never any problem in prev 10 yrs. from this location. If I drive south 1 mile to Newfield Green shopping center, phone works fine. Something went wrong with the tower recently. I notified ATT yesterday. No fix yet.

I've been had AT&T here for 1.5 years and the reception has been good / perfect -- up until 2 days ago. Now my whole family (we all have iPhones) gets between 0-2 bars in the house. Is anyone else experiencing this? It's ridiculous.

Ridiculous lack of signal for being so close to a major city. I need to switch carriers.

I get the worst reception ever. Most times I have to talk outside to get 1-2 bars of reception. And its nearly impossible to speak on my cell inside without running through the house, up and down the stairs to keep the signal going. I went to the Cingular store and they told me that my phone is looking for ATT signals first, because I bought my phone originally with ATT before the switch. Now if I want to get that "great" Cingular signal? I'm told I have to buy another phone. Keep in mind I bought my phone just a couple of months before the switch. I think Cingular is a great big rip-off. I'm switching to verizon! Everyone I know with Verizon is happy and they can talk in my house on their phone, while I stand outside and let the world hear my business!

Great reception at my house and in most areas around town. Signal drops up north of the Merritt and also in west Norwalk area.

Those others with a good signal must live right under the transmission mast. Theres nothing like shelling out good money each month to watch Cingular run those fancy TV adds showing how many bars you can get. If they spent a fraction of the advertising campaign on the service, they wouldn't have to advertise in the first place... and won't lose people in droves to Verizon. I get 1 bar at home, but can sometimeds get it to vary up to 3 / 4 bars if I hope up and down on my left foot, standing in a bucket of water with my right arm out the window.

Cingular is pretty good in Stamford. I even get reception up High Ridge Rd.past the Parkway. It used to shut off on Newfield Rd. near Grade A. Not sure if it still does
