Very Disapointing that we live in the 21st Centry and our wireless phones still stink.

Verizon wireless "Can you hear me now? What. Batteries go dead within a couple of hours from searching for a signal when inside the house. Must not touch the phone if you need to make a call except for rotating it to get "that one signal bar" so your call will go through.

No signal at my house and it drops all across Wildwood from Riverbank to Hunting Ridge. It stays bad until Giovanni's Steak House and then gets better. Its great downtown but really choppy up towards and into NY. I know exactly where the calls drop so I try to time my phone use accordingly. I wish there was a carrier besides Verizon servicing this area. There is no excuse for this poor service and they consistently dont offer the best phones or if they do they disable some of the best features. Still, I am stuck with Verizon because nothing else works all that well up here (though my Mom is using ATT and does OK... but she is mostly in NYC and not much of a cell phone user so its hard to tell.)

Reception gets bad and then drops altogether about 1 / 2 mile north of Giavanni's Steak House. It picks up again further north but is really crappy north all the way to the NY border. As bad as it is, I think Verizon is the only one that even has reception. The absolute worst is Sprint. No PCS coverage north of Lord and Taylor.

Verizon has terrific service in Stamford Ct. as do most of the other carriers. Westover Rd and Mianus Rd have no service for all carriers. North Stamford is very spotty going into pound ridge NY.

I have NEVER lost coverage for any call, no drops, nothing, for short quick calls or 2 hr calls, whether in my house with 1 bar or near highway with 5 bars. I hear horror stories about ATT, T-Mobile, Cingular, and sometimes Sprint for coverage. I drove down to FL, that's right, and no loss of call coverage all the way to south FL, with all-digital phone. So what up with all your complaints? I chose Verizon because I heard and read full coverage, few drops - well, that's my experience thusfar.
