Despite being told that reception is poor here, near the Russian embassy and down in a valley, I've been pleasantly surprised. Consistent good signal and sound quality.
With Nextel in the Downtown DC area and Metro DC (basicly for the most part where the Metro runs) I get great reception. I have full to almost full bars I would say about 70% of the time. I do not have any service when underground riding the Metro. My only gripe would be once above ground after leaving the Metro it seems like my phone takes forever to pick up the signal (actually less than 3-4 minutes).
I use this phone for business out of my house all day long. Very, very few problems with coverage. Both this phone, and the Treo 650 could use some help in the bug department. I average one major bug a month. Sprints phone technical help is pretty good - when you get them on the phone. Their in-store help is the worst I have ever seen. Avoid the retail stores like the plague!
Its a block from the White House, at the World Bank, and I get shoddy reception on Cingular. The service comes and goes - barely one bar of reception... Cingular please do something!
Born in SE and cant even visit my parents without having no service its like Nextel thinks nobody in SE needs service. Had to call 911 for my father who fell off a latter no service and I called them and they said I had a bad phone but I just purchased it last month and every Nextel phone I have ever owned never work in SE. I mean every new phone that Nextel brings out I have bought it but now I'am done no more faketel.
works perfectly on the street, but inside the buildings between 6th and 7th st there is almost NO signal at all... very POOR reception... Get signal 30% of the time inside the building that means I loose 70% of my calls during the time I am inside...
Complained like HELL! This intersection is less than a mile away from the Capitol! This whole area just sucks, and there is no reason for it. Service has improved a bit becuase a bunch of my co-workers complained too. If you live in this area, call Verizon. Open a trouble ticket. They just need a new tower.
