AT&T Wireless (GSM)
Used to have TDMA which worked fine. GSM doesn't seem to work inside the building but would give it a 3-4 rating outside of the building.

Reception perfect until about a week and a half ago (Aug 10). Now, no reception at all. 4 hours in 4 calls to ATT. No help.

Since a week ago (Aug, 13 04) I have had no reception. I called in a trouble ticket - to no avail. I've tried three different phones, a neighbour's AT&T phone is also dead. A friend with AT&T, came to visit - she can't make calls out or in. No support from AT&T. Of course they want me to buy a new phone.

Horrible reception around DC. I can't get reception inside our house or out. Constant dropped calls. Nice customer service though. I cancelled less than two months after service began with no penalty. I didn't have to pay for activation either. I wish it worked because our plan was the best around.

When I had my old clunky Nokia phone I had no problems at all. I got the new phone from Verizon and have had nothing but trouble. I have to go outside to get and keep a call.

I recently moved from Los Angeles where Sprint ruled the airwaves. Now I have to go across the street and stand in a field at Trinity to get a signal. I have tried in various locations around town and do not seem to have a problem until I get into buildings with 2 or more stories. I hope to find a carrier that I can use in my apartment.

The Panasonic GU87 works on GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 bands. AT&T switched from GSM 900 to 800 and renders the GU87 veritably useless. Of course, they failed to mention that they would be switching bands when they sold me the phone.
