We have never had so much trouble with reception in our entire time of owning cell phones. Calls to Cingular assured us that there were: plenty of towers in our area (Eastern Sussex County), Cingular was working on the tower which caused the poor to non-existent reception, "that particulaar area is a dead zone", it is because you aren't in your home zone (while sitting in my own house), etc. You make up the excuse - Cingular will use it to explain the fact that 90% of the time I can't get reception to even place an emergency 911 call. I have 1 year left on my contract. I will be switching to Verizon - maybe then I can honestly say "Yes" to the question - "Can you here me now?"

Reception is still poor in the home but works most of the time with lots of dropped calls and signals. In most cases reception is better if we stand by a window, need to go outside to get okay reception. As to How many bars of reception do you get? (Out of 5) I have never seen more than one.
