I moved up here from South Florida and have gotten much better coverage up here than I had down there. As of right now in my apartment I'm getting full 5 bars. I don't think I've had a drop call here at all in this area! :)

Had Nextel since 2000. Worked well for me pretty much everywhere I went (between DeLand and Orlando) - even inside buildings (like all the local hospitals). But lately I've had problems with lots of "redails" (i.e. the phone does not always connect on the first try) suggesting that their network is getting full and cannot support all their subcribers. Also, Nextel did not work inside my new home off Wymore in Altamonte. So, I switched to Verizon and am quite happy with it so far. The Verizon signal is a bit weaker than Nextel in DeLand but better in Altamonte.

Signal throughout the city, with rare exception, is 3 or higher. In fact, from Leesburg to UCF, signal is generally 3 or higher. My daughter, who has a newer phone, gets even better signals. The service plans are a great enough deal by themselves to make it worth putting up with lower signals, but given that this is not a problem, I LOVE METROPCS! I'll be hating it come August when we move to Las Cruces, NM and I won't be able to get MetroPCS service.

Until recently, I had excellent reception. I'd say the past four or five months my phone started dropping calls around my house (intersection 434 / 436)... also drops calls while driving around Conway area as well as near Americana area.

Until the last 2 months or so, reception was excellent. Now, I can't even get a signal outside. I drive up and down the I-4 corridor to and from work, and have had the phone lose signal en route and be unable to re-aquire it without a hard reset. TMobile refuses to acknowledge that there is an issue, even though I personally know of a dozen plus people in the same apartment complex have all files complaints. If you need your phone in this area, I'd suggest you go with a carrier with a better signal.

Used this phone for MONTHS at the same location with no problem. Family plan with younger son and an older son with a separate (Cingular) account. We all have different model phones. Around June 10th (2006) we can no longer send or receive calls OR check our voicemail. This is with fully charged phones and all the bars showing! If we walk up the street 50 yards or so it works fine. Made 5 different calls to Cingular over a two week time period to try to get this resolved and it's STILL not resolved. Paying full price for cellphones that can't be used at home? Yea... ... I really love that!
