I am very happy with Alltel service and coverage. I have had no real issues in the area or while I have been traveling. I have only found one dead zone for coverage and it is on 85 just before the north end of 123. It is only a few moments and it is hit or miss. My contract is up and I am going to renew with Alltel. I have had three other providers and this is the best coverage I have ever had. I travel west and north and have not had any problems with getting a signal. I just wish Samsung had a touch screen with Alltel.

I recently tried Alltel from Cingular because Cingular's plans are outrageously high. But it was a great decision because the coverage is just as good if not better than anybody else here including Cingular. More people should really consider Alltel in this area and I wish they had a more visible store. But their network is about flawless here and consistently on 4 or 5 bars out of a total of 5 on the phone. The plans are in a different league than Cingular. Alltel offers more minutes for the price on every type of plan. The My Circle feature is awesome and is basically unlimited calling for me because I don't spend a lot of time talking to more than 10 numbers. I would go with a Motorola phone on Alltel's network because the calls sound great for me, no drops, and excellent reception. I've tried them all and Alltel's coverage is just as good as anybody else except their plans offer a lot more. They are a good decision for this area.

I am in a new subdivision off Hwy. 90 near 393 and I have had great reception. I make road trips to NC, NY and lower FL all the time with no problem. The NC mountains and WV mountains give me trouble occasionally but this is the best service I've found.

T-Mobile works well up to Airport Rd.on the north side of Crestview but not beyond that north to Laurel Hill or thru the Alabama state line. It works well south to the Shoal River Bridge but service is not reliable beyond that south to the intersection of Hwy. 85 and Hwy. 123. Service on Hwy. 123 is not reliable. It works well thru the Niceville, Destin, and Ft. Walton Beach areas. It also works well on Interstate 10 and Hwy. 90 both east tthru Tallahassee and south thru the Orlando area and west thru the Mobile area and beyond. It worked well south thru Puerto Rico. T-Mobile also works well in Atlanta, Dallas / Ft.Worth, Houston, and west throughout the Los Angeles area.

Sprint has great reception in Crestview, Niceville, FWB, and Pensacola. However Sprint gets bad near Shoal River and you don't have reception between there and just past 123 to Niceville but most cells do not work in that area. The outskirts of Crestview aren't the greatest and Baker isn't that great but with Sprint Buying Nextel when I had Nextel the area Sprint has problems Nextel doesn't and vice versa. Overall Sprint does better than Nextel but as they combine I forsee much greater coverage. Although Sprint doesn't work well at home on the outskirts of Crestview it is great in town and at both colleges OWC and UWF and in town I never have a problem. I recommend Sprint.

I started out with Verizon and the service was horrible. Most of the time I didn't even have service. I switched to Cingular and have been very pleased with the service. I frequently travel between John King and Duke FIeld and Eglin AFB. I haven't had any trouble on Hwy. 85. I have decent recetion while on Duke Field, even while inside most buildings. Hwy. 123 has a couple of dead spots in the lower areas. Hwy. 85 near Eglin's ACC gate has one short dead spot. On Eglin Main my service is great, even near the Commissary and BX where I notice most people have no service. I have talked to many people that work and travel in the same area. They have all said Cingular's service is the best they have had in this area. I have been told that the phone manufacturer has a lot to do with the type of service received. Ask your service provider if there is a specific brand of phone that works best on thier network.

I'm currently with VerizonWireless and I can't complain about the service. My contract is up in Feb, and wondering how well Cingular compares in Crestview / Niceville / Eglin / 85 / 123, where are the dead spots in this area, besides the one listed. With Verizon, here in Crestview I'm on extended network, which isn't really a problem, just if I get a voice mail I have to dail my cell instead of *86. The reason, I'm considering Cingular is they have 7pm to 7pm calling, and I'm going plan on buying my daughter a cell phone and wondering if I should change carriers. BTW, I live on the South side of Crestiew and get 5 bars at my house.

My reception varies south of I-10 east on John King but I hardly ever get dropped calls. I am a long time AT&T user and that should tell you that I am satisfied with their service. Would really like to have 3G service here in Crestview though. I think the Edge system is way too slow to be paying for it. The 3G coverage in Fort Walton Beach is way faster.

I just switched over to the 850 area code and I seem to lost any kind of reception. I am always in extended area with this phone, but when I had my old phone number, which was in another state I could at least dial my other cell and it worked! I had to go to Ft Walton Beach to reprogamed my phone with my new number. Please Verizon, put a tower in Crestview Fla or two! I have been a loyal supporter, but now you are making me change to another carrier!
