I'm a new Verizon customer and I'm getting one bar outside, one bar (sometimes no bars) inside my home in the Weston / Davie area. Signal seems to drift in and out much like driving your car further and further away from a radio station. Called Verizon. They said closest tower was less than a mile away and that their technician verified that it was operating properly. Nobody can tell me why the signal is so weak less than a mile from the tower. Would like the Verizon people to stand behind their reputation of having excellent coverage. Soon.

1 bar then it goes away, 5 bars, then they go away, even if I am not moving around. This is inside my apt. Nothing in the Publix at TC, nothing at Dan Marino Center... .VZW claims we are too close to the tower, I call shenanigans. In Boca Raton I can be in the elevator or my server room and never have any problem. Come on VZW, you have to do better than this.

Phone will not work inside my single story home. Must go out in the street for good reception. Seems nobody can get a signal in the Riverside Hotel.

In 2004 after Hurricane Frances, my Nextel phone did not work and my Verizon phone did work! I then got rid of all of my Nextel phones and replaced them all with Verizon phones just in time for Hurricane Jeanne. Immediately following Hurricane Jeanne all of my Verizon phones worked flawlessly and they have continued to work well through subsequent Hurricanes in 2005, and every storm we have had since. I run a small business and we have 8 lines with Verizon, and I wouldn't dream of going to anyother carrier. I knew people with everyother carrier at the time (Sprint, Metro PCS, Cingular, Nextel, etc.) none of their phones worked. I have since learned that in the event of a power failure, all Verizon cellphone Towers are on a generator back up system. Verizon's customer service is excellent, and the have a technical services desk at their larger stores, where you can take your phone in for repair or replacement on the spot - no waiting for a replacement phone in the mail, while your phone is not working. My reception has been great everywhere, except in my own home - where reception is spotty. Verizon is not perfect, but they are far better than anyother alternative on the market today.

The Publix at Town Center has barely one bar, Dan Marino has one bar if you are lucky but it never stays.

Up until a few months ago, could not get reception in my house. After the tower at the firestation on Saddle Club Rd can get some, depending on which room I am in.

I have a 2 bar rating and on some nights the phone works fine and on other it will just keep dropping the calls left and right. I am frustrated coming from Arizona were Verizon is the most covered in the area. Oh well.

Drop calls 99% of the time. Verizon needs to build a repeater tower in this area. From my search in the FCC website the closest tower is at Sadle Club Rd.and Weston Road, some 7 miles away.

Perfect "landline-like" reception. Never any static. One dropped call in 9 months. I think some of it has to do with the phone as I get bars when others on Verizon do not.

Ive had Verizon for just over 5 years, and I have never had any major issues until I came to work here in the Fort Lauderdale area(Bank of America building)I even called into to verizon, and they told me that they are going to be adding a cell site very soon. Other than that Verizon is still the best service by far.

In my condo (441 and Stirling) reception inside is shakey. Everywhere else I have had no problems with the signal, from they Keys to Tampa / Orlando. Worked great in DC and Boston too.

Verizon works well everywhere except inside my house. Sprint wasn't any better. Thinking of going to Cingular.

The overall score for Verizon is excellent. In the Fort Lauderdale area the coverage is good. In the Boca Raton area the coverage is the best. In The West Palm Beach area is also good. AT&T has a very bad coverage on Boca Raton. Although, I am happy reception customer I am changing to T-Mobile for comparable reception and better phones. Verizon's phones are YAAAAK!!!!
