Using several pones including latest TREO. Sony / Ericson Motorola the receptin in downtown Fort Lauderderdale has been worse than disapointing! One would think that the business 'hub' of a major South Fla city would have it right by now yet reception has been near non existant and very poor quality. Dropped calls and arching out with screaching sounds at about 100 db prior to loosing conection realy irritating to say the least. At the upperfloors of the buildings highrise or office buildings (including exterior open air) balconies the reception and connections are extemley poor. The Broward / Las Olas near Riverfront and Watergardens complex (Northside facing Sun Sentinal Blg.) is worse than ever. After an hour with CINGULAR / AT&T tech department they informed me that the "towers' sending / recieving have been downgraded! With all Cingular / ATT put into massive($$$$) P.R. T.V. campaign on how great the reception is why such terrible reception! I will buy lunch for whomever can get some facts and cure or can come up with a solution for north side upper floors of the WATERGARDENS 347 North New River Dr.East! Thank You!

No problems since dumping AT&T and getting Sprint "with" a good phone. Good phone is the key. Many phones have terrible reception. The Sanyo's always work great.

Its ok, but cannot get good reception overall there is not good reception in doors such as in the home , departmnet store such as burdines and publix supermarket. Especially when driving from Ft. Lauderdale, south towards miami, it drops calls every single time along that route. Like clockwork. It may be the phone, but not sure if its AT&T, but just happy this phone is not being used for any important business.

The overall score for Verizon is excellent. In the Fort Lauderdale area the coverage is good. In the Boca Raton area the coverage is the best. In The West Palm Beach area is also good. AT&T has a very bad coverage on Boca Raton. Although, I am happy reception customer I am changing to T-Mobile for comparable reception and better phones. Verizon's phones are YAAAAK!!!!

The reception for AT&T GSM stinks just about everywhere unless you are in a wide open space. Their TDMA network is more reliable.
