I can't believe how many times my phone calls are dropped or weird things happen. I frequently get messages before the phone ever rings. I heard T-Mobile had good price plans but if you keep getting dropped and customer service thinks it is your phone even though other family members have the same problem... ..well what would YOU think?

I get lots of bars but my reception is bad and breaks up a lot. I have an LG 1300 and I wonder if another phone would work better.

Sprint PCS has always given me a better signal than ANY of my friends phones on various networks. I think a lot of peoples problems are related to the phone they use. I always have Sanyo and its worked great for years. Some friends with older Samsungs can be right next to me and have completely different results. Sanyo all the way. Good luck with Cingular if you get away from I-75 more than 10 miles.

I get great reception using Verizon's network all over town, if I'm outdoors (on campus, driving around, etc). Inside almost any building with more than two floors, though, ZERO reception, no matter where I am in the building.

Poor reception extends to the north into a densely populated area where many students live. I don't understand why it is taking TM so long to serve their customers. I have been a long term customer since the days of PowerTel / VoiceStream and thinking about switching.

I had Sprint PCS for 2 years and the service sucked really bad. I would NEVER persuade people to try Sprint. I now have Cingular, and I get reception all over town. I always have between 4 and 5 bars. I travel back and forth between Santa Fe Community College and UF, and my signal never goes down. Now that Cingular and AT&T have joined forces, the reception is great in Chiefland where my mom lives when I visit her. I am very happy with Cingular and would spread the word to anyone who is thinking of switching companies!

Just switched from Sprint Sanyo 4900 (2 year old phone). Recently the Sprint service was just horrendous. I heard that the Cingular phones were real good in town, but when I got home with the new phone I was surprised to find that calls were getting dropped and I usually have 1 bar.

I get calls that drop out when using and on 34th no matter which way I go l lose reception. Reception is very poor out of town and I have a tower with in two miles of the house and when I talk it sounds like there is an echo in the phone. AT&T was great, but Cingular is bad!

AT&T Gsm bought by Cingular recently. Except for a few areas in Haile Plantation Sub-Division, all over town is good. A few areas are slight trouble. Rarely drops a call.

I get no signal when indoors, particularly in a building with the newer metal roof systems. Yet my old Nokia 5160 with AT&T still holds a 2-3 of 5 even indoors.

I don't know what it is about the NW area of Gainesville at NW 39th Avenue and NW 51 Street, but Sprint reception is awful. I either get one bar of signal or my phone starts roaming. After reading the comments about other cell services, I would like to know if any cell service works in this area.

Floats between no bars and 1 bar. This is north of 39th Avenue in the Spring Tree area. Don't plan on making a call longer than a couple of minutes, unless you like redialing.

I own a LG VX6000 camera phone which I use on Verizon's America's Choice plan. I get great coverage all over Gainesville, FL (32614 and 32606). I have used the phone also in Orlando and Cape Canaveral, FL and I have had no problems. GSM coverage is lousy and spotty here, they (AT&T Wireless) should of never gotten rid of TDMA. Both AT&T Wireless and Cingular customer service is one of the worst in the business. Would beleive that Cingular customer service is closed on Sundays! You have to be kidding!

I have overall been very happy with Verizon's coverage. But I notice in the NW area of town in the blocks that lie between 34th and 43rd Street and 8th Ave. and 39th St. seems to be a notorious dead zone. Get out of that area and reception seems to be fine.

Not too bad in general. Some phones drop no calls...like nokia 3650. Others do moreso. Good outside coverage, OK indoor coverage. Pretty strong in general. Better than Sprint by far. On par with Verizon
