NO T-Mobile signal, waste of using T-mobile, please do not go for T-mobile.

US Cellular
I flew from VA down to FL for a business trip. I called home several times and family member on other end told me that the caller id said IL number... WTF? Also, there was a 15-20 second delay between my sentences for the person on the other end of the line to hear me. U.S. Cellular isn't FL friendly by any means.

Perfect reception... I get good reception inside of the apartment and outside. Never had a problem with the phone reception since I came to Jacksonville, FL.

Sprint
Usually no bars. Inside max on either phone or air-card is 1 bar but it drops to no bars it the wind blows (yeah, that's a joke, but the signal strength is the truth). Outside usually 1 bar, on a lucky day jumps around between 1 to 2 bars. The closest Sprint tower is at NAS JAX, next closest is at JAX airport. Sprint store told me "too bad for you". Some kind of service, huh?

AT&T
I've had AT&T for many years (Since they bought out Cellular One) and they have made many Great improvements with their coverage. 17 years ago there service was poor here where I live. Now they have installed a new Tower at the corner of Chaffee and Normandy and never had a drop call or no service since. While my one friend has been here many times with many different carriers for service and none of them would work here. He would have to walk across the street to make or receive a call. He finally gave up and switched to AT&T. I have traveled from Fl to Pa many times with usable service all the way. They don't have the best prices but I do believe they do have the best service across the USA.

T-Mobile
at home bars fluctuate from 0-2 usually. reception is fine when there are bars, some areas not able to dial or send text. on beach blvd reception is great, 4 bars. prepaid has terrible reception at home, using Samsung no-fancy flip phone.

T-Mobile
Service in this area is very good, but at home on Hodges Blvd.near Atantic Blvd.I can text and talk, but can rarely use my internet connect. I always have 1-2 bars inside the house. Thinking of getting rid of my smart-phone since I cannot use it much if at all at home.

Sprint
No Bars, no 4G, limited voice mail. Most calls dropped, but reception is it is getting better. Phone is great, apps great. Customer Service is understanding and supportive. It took T-Mobile 1.5 years to fix the same problem.

AT&T
Dunno how often people may comment how good a service is on sites like these, but despite the fact that I really want an Evo 4g with Sprint, my iPhone has been working great with AT&T. The fact that there're minimal good comments about Sprint has me nervous. However, no matter what phone I've had with ATT, my calls always drop at the intersection of San Jose and University. And there's another spot closer to Baymeadows where calls always drop. Lastly, I occasionally drop at I-95 near the Golfair Blvd.exit. But those're the only three dead pockets I've found. That's a good track record considering some providers don't even get signal inside certain buildings... and I've never lost signal in a building before. Or at home.

Sprint
Terrible reception. Have installed the Sprint Airave cable modem booster and that works inside but step out the door and 1-2 bars and dropping calls constantly. Live 4 miles away for 5 years (SW of JIA)and all was great, what a difference just on the other side of JIA( NE corner).

Verizon
Verizon Wireless is just simply the best! I have tried every carrier out there. It just works perfect. Thank you Verizon. Those guys at the 210 store are very knowledgable, highly recommend them.

Sprint
Thinking about switching just to get the iphone, but now I am nervous since I never have reception issue in my house or around my area of town. Only lose calls in a dead spot on Butler. Usually can travel from Florida to N.c with out any phone issues. Sprint has been good to me.

Verizon
Terrible coverage here like the others say. I am switching to AT&T with the new Iphone. Can't get coverage inside my apartment at all unless I go outside.

Verizon
I have always had problems with Verizon wireless in Jacksonville. Coverage is poor at Southside / Baymeadows (2 bars that go on and off to 1) and at the apartment at Southside-I-95 as well as on the UNF campus. Terrible. I have had Verizon wireless for 10 years and used multiple phones and never much luck here. Also, dropped calls occur regularly at JTB / Southside when you come off the ramp. This has been ongoing for several years and with different phone makes. Since this town is original Bellsouth country, I bed AT&T is much better in this town. Unfortunately, the rest of my family is on Verizon up north where their coverage is dominant (old Bell Atlantic country and Alltel which was purchased by VZW).

T-Mobile
I love T-Mobile in Jacksonville, Florida. We finally got 3G here in August 2009. Reception has been really good as I average 3-4 bars out of 4 almost everywhere I go. Their customer service has been great and the prices are lower than most. I suggest that everyone never sign a 2-year contract with any provider and go month to month with an unsubsidized phone (Google Nexus One). Best decision I've made. I was close to marking this service PERFECT but I changed it because I sometimes get EDGE instead of 3G. Picky, I know, but perfect would be 3G everywhere.

Verizon
40-50% Time my phone is looking for signal and to make calls I have to get luck or walk 20-25yards left from my house. Lot of drop calls and almost no 3G. Leaving Verizon tomorrow. ATT signal reception is far better in this area.

AT&T
I frequently have dropped call or no service in my house and around Jacksonville. However, Mandarin on the southside of Jacksonville typically has very good coverage but most of Fruit Cove is barely covered until CR 210. Would not reccomend AT&t in Fruit Cove.

I have never had a problem with reception, sound, or internet anywhere in Jacksonville, on the St. Johns River, or up to ten miles off-shore.

No reception at all in our sunroom. Poor throughout the rest of the house

I lose coverage in my office near Belfort / JtB but also my home JTB / Hodges. I have older I-phone but my wife has a Samsung 3G and she gets dropped calls as well in our house. 2 cell towers on JTB do not show up on this map? Whose are they? will switch to Verizon and take my chances. Had Sprint before and it was very bad as well.

Sprint
Horrible sound quality, people always complaing they cant hear me and I cant hear them. Inside buildings I get about 1 unstable bar, outside is ok.

Verizon
Verizon is the ultimanium service provider in Jacksonville. I get great voice quality and data coverage 4 EVDO and 4 1X CDMA.

T-Mobile
we have to walk out of my home and to the street if I want to get any bars. then I get 3 at the max if the weather is OK. as much as the northside of Jax is growing you would think they would invest in more towers. calls are always dropped when driving on Lem Turner between i-295 and callahan. wouldn't recommend T-Mobile to anyone in this area.

Verizon
Verizon has consistent and reliable coverage here in Jacksonville. Dropped calls simply do not happen when I had this service. I have tried Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and then back to Verizon because Verizon simply had the best coverage out of those three. AT&T is great for its rollover plans, which has saved my wallet several times, but it's not cut out for reliability and I barely get reception inside my home.

T-Mobile
Reception is non-existent inside any building on campus at all. Outside you get maybe 1 or 2 bars max. You have to literally leave campus to get any signal.

T-Mobile
Generally have very good to perfect reception indoors and out, in automobiles, and even in the back of the dreaded Walmart Superstore and Sams. Occasionaly drops to 3 bars when I'm very close to a lot of computer equipment. Also get similarly good reception with our Nokia 6103s 6203, and Razer phones

T-Mobile
I only get 2-3 bars, but the service is reliable and I never had any dropped calls. The service is generally good everywhere in JAX - indoor and outdoor. I noticed the quality of service is affected by the phone model you use. I get a very good signal with my very old Nokia, OK signal with Samsung T809, and not very reliable service with Motorola V180.
