I only get 2-3 bars, but the service is reliable and I never had any dropped calls. The service is generally good everywhere in JAX - indoor and outdoor. I noticed the quality of service is affected by the phone model you use. I get a very good signal with my very old Nokia, OK signal with Samsung T809, and not very reliable service with Motorola V180.
sure am glad my 2 year T-Mobile contract is almost up. never have been able to use the phone in my home and usually can not use it driving down lem turner between i-295 and callahan without having the calls dropped. T-Mobile should invest in putting up more towers on the northside of jax as this is the area of town that will be having the large population growth next.
I only get reception on the Naval Air Station on the edge of the base along US-17. I get great coverage everywhere else in Jacksonville, many other cities in Florida, and when I travel around the country. If you work at NAS, T-Mobile is not for you. Elsewhere, I would recommend it.
Dawsons Creek Subdivision in Argyle (past SR 23) has horrible reception. I'm lucky to get 1 bar and when I answer a call... then it drops it. Phones used is: a Razor (1 1 / 2 years old) and my husband uses a New PDA that he just purchased in January (purchased after service provider said to see about upgrading his phone (only 1 year old at the time) to get a better signal. SUCKER! Guess what, it didn't work.
Poor to no reception. Almost impossible inside. Have had phone reprogrammed. Drops calls continuously; at times powers up on other networks or on roaming repetitively. Sprint suc_ _ pretty badly.
I swore on my Cingular cell for years. When ATT took over I began swearing at my phone! I never had dropped calls and lousy reception until the exact week of the merger. After 5 years I am switching to another carrier. So long more (empty) bars!
When Cingular was Cingular we had great reception. As soon as they sold out to AT&T the phone service will not work in the house - unless I stand in my closet or go outside.
No outgoing service in home, has to go outside, into garage, or pation or to driveway, to make a call... this is ridiculous for the money that I pay each month, just insanely absurd...
I have had three Samsung SGH807D cell phones and my wife has had two Samsung SGH407D phones with AT&T. My wife and I get very poor service either at home or while I am at work aboard NAS Jacksonville Fl. We both suffer from frequent dropped calls or loss of service entirely. Even when we are traveling down the road we lose connection. When calling each other while I am at work and she is on the road we can not reach each other and even leaving a message sometimes takes several hours for that message to reach the other.
