Today is 5 / 26. Signal was fine 2 - 3 bars until 5 / 19. Now only 1-2 until I try to make a call then 0-1 bars, mostly 0 bars, conversation breaks up, miss 1 / 2 of the words. Called Cingular on 5 / 24 - said for some reason my phone did not recieve a recent software update. asked me to turn my phone off and on and off. Then asked me to turn it on and leave it on all night so software could be downloaded. Problem still exists. Will call them again. Wish me luck!

Verizon Wireless has the best reception in my opinion. I've had Alltel before too and I had good cell reception from Alltel at work (Riverside area) but decent cell reception at home (Westside area). With my LG-VX6000 cell phone on the Verizon Wireless network, I can usually get 4 bars both at work and at home.

Frequently without reception at house, especially inside - frequently drop calls around town.

I have a treo 650 smartphone with Cingular but it drops my call everytime I drive down Girvin Rd. going towards atlantic blvd. I seem to have this problem all in this area of Jacksonville. Also, reception is absolutley horrible while in the downtown area. My Mom and Sister have the same problems with cingular. We are seriously thinking about switching to Verizon.

I want to compliment T-Mobile. (Wow, someone saying something good?!) I've had my service for a year now and get really good perception even in places where others don't! I have my spots but it's due mostly to the military where I work and not T-Mobile. It's a little choppy going over the intercoastal bridges but it doesn't drop off.

I get absolutley no reception indoors, and barely one bar outdoors when I'm on base.

Cingular sucks. Everywhere but under raido towers. STAY AWAY from them in Jacksonville.

San Marco / Miramar Neighborhood. No reception to one bar inside home. One to two bars outside and drops calls 50% of time.

Very poor signal inside house of Paradise Island(The Preserve).

Cingular = "Can't here me now!" No reception inside. Quality varies dramatically as you travel.
