I have metro PCS and anywhere I go in the Lakeland area my phone works all the time. I never have drop calls at all ! Only thing is that metro is local service provider. I hope that soon that they will have more metro towers in outside areas

No reception inside the building. Sprint and Verizon users can make calls, I can't ! very frustrating, and if my phone does ring and I answer it inside the building (happened twice) it promptly drops the call hanging up on the person calling me.

T-Mobile is one of the few providers that get any bars on the first floor of my office - and T-Mobile has full bars. It has great coverage throughout the city. I can get calls, emails, internet, etc while my co-workers have nothing and miss call after call (Cingular is worst - they get no bars and callers are told their phone is not in service)

nextel is the worst cell phone provider no cell service, and no customer service!!

Keeps switching from service to no-service every 5 minutes. Frustrating

With Sprint, I can get reception when I stand on top of the pipe racks on the back of my work-truck. I have recently purchased a Boost-Mobile (Nextel prepaid) for backup. Between the Sprint and the Boost-Mobile, I have access to a cell phone nearly anywhere in the area. I wouldn't recommend anyone to depend on only Sprint for the Lakeland area.

Nextel has very spotty coverage in Polk County. I just changed from Cingular because their charges for roaming were so high on trips to South Carolina. Nextels coverage is way less than Cingular. I get "No Service" in lots of places in Polk County where Cingular had signals. I think Cingular has good coverage, but really vicious billing although I must admit they didn't hit me with early cancellation of $200 because I hadn't actually signed a contract. I'd be interested to know if one of the fixed price cell service providers like Metro has coverage in Polk County.

Sprint PCS is aware of very problematic coverage. Customer service and technical support are of no help, rude and arrogant. I just dropped Nextel for the same problems, i.e. no coverage, poor tech and customer support. From what I have been reading I don't think any of the cell companies really care about quality service, customer and technical support. Oh, and they even charge you an EXTRA $2.50 upwards for detailed statements, even the online detailed statements. I'm totally disgusted with Spring PCS and Nextel

Good reception all over town, even works well inside my house, I have no complaints and will stick with verizon.i was with another company that ended in PCS and theyre signals were lousy! so I been with Verizon for 3 yrs and change

I love the coverage my husband and I have with our phones with Verizon we have traveled all over Lakeland and have never experienced a dropped call or any problems we travel alot so I can't wait to see how it works elsewhere Have been to Orlando and no problems, I am very upset that the cost is what it is... I use to have Sprint not as good coverage at all but I got everything for a lot cheaper. I have a wonderful phone I do miss my blackberry I had with Sprint but I wanted to try something different, I can only use my phone to make calls (limited) and unlimited text but nothing else...

Terrible coverage all throughout Lakeland basically. For as large of a network as At&T is, I am shocked at their pitiful coverage in the downtown Lakeland area. I'm right near the main S. Florida drag and I get 1-2 bars everywhere which cuts my signal and reception in and out. People I call HATE it, they never hear me fully. It delays, echos, and cuts out constantly. The only road I get a good full reception on is parts of Orange Street. As soon as I make a turn, down it goes from full bars to 1 or 2 again. Another thing to mention is I thought the quality of the phone (smartphone HTC tild) would help, but honestly my old LG that I got for free with an upgrade was better. Steer clear of At&T in Lakeland!

Very little cingular / ATT reception at my house. Phone might ring, but not enough signal to talk.

Absolutely no reception inside my house or immediately outside of it. I get decent reception in some parts of Lakeland but will often lose it if I am driving near a bunch of power lines. I wouldn't recommend Sprint to anyone looking for a provider in Lakeland.

I NEVER get any reception while inside my house. If I am in my car half of the time I have to put down the window so that way my call doesn't get dropped. Half of the time I get delayed voice mails and sometimes I don't even get my text messages. AT&T is not a service provider you want! Trust me. I was at ALLTEL and even though i'd have a few dropped calls every once in a blue moon that I would get pissed about i highly regret switching because instead of every once in a while its about 10 times a day.! AT&T also lied to me about my plan in my contract so instead of a $40.00 a month plan i get a $60.00 a month plan. I told them I would not pay them and it was in the contract and i was taking them to court so it went back down to 40 but when my contract is up i'm gone i will find someone new.

Sprint: Can text only. No cell reception. Very disappointing.

The phone is of no value inside my home, which is really where I need the reception. Seems to work everywhere else though.

I HATE Verizon because they are expensive and support is the worst I have ever had with any business. BUT, they happen to have the best coverage so that's the only reason I use them.

Displays "Searching". Both inside and outside the house. I am in tech support, so I just have my customers call my land line.

No issues with signal strength, data transfers or dropped calls. Full data package on both phones used extensively for work and play. Used all over Lakeland, Florida and Caribbean.

Switched from Alltel and now get excellent coverage inside Publix. 2 weeks now with AT&T and no dropped calls, excellent reception in the Lakeland area. No complaints with Alltel after 5 years, AT&T offered a better plan and phone.
