I have lived in this area most of my life and had Verizon the same... NEVER bad cell service here. Also Internet on the Voyager is fast for EVDO is at full bars.

Great reception, fast customer service. Well established system. I just got out of the GSM hell of ATT, very poor reception in Tampa Bay area, and in Florida general. With ATT, I had to wait 25 minutes to speak to a CS.

Coverage is poor all over the area. Goes from 3-4 bars to no bars all the time. Towers all around me according to maps. I have called many times and get great lips service, but my coverage still sucks. There is a huge dead zone just north of the T-Mobile building on I-75 that I think is hilarious. Just have to wait for new towers. My Nextel sucks too and they told me it was a poor area and tough nuggets. Company is switching me to Sprint so I imagine it will still suck. My ATT GSM reception has decreased since I have signed up 10 months ago. I have just migrated to Verizon with full fledged signal boost. I have two more months to go with ATT GSM, but cannot take it any more. Now, I have two carriers at the same time, but I can only use Verizon comfortably. GSM seems to be very weak in Florida metropolitan areas. I have had a lot of "encoding switched off"s in the middle of conversations and lost the calls.

ATT service is terrible. My wife has Verizon and has excellent service. I'm trashing my iPhone with ATT and spending $299 on a new iPhone4 through Verizon.

I've had Alltel since it was GTE and never had trouble making or receiving calls until recently. My phone will not communicate with the tower by SR54 and US41 in digital mode. It will hand off from another tower to that tower with no problem, but making or receiving calls from that tower is not possible in digital mode. I have even tried making calls on that tower with a new Samsung u520 and it still didn't work so I know it's not my phone. I've called Alltel numerous times about the problem, but they have not done a thing about it!

I switched to T-Mobile last week and have no service inside buidlings. Very good reception outside in most areas.

Lutz, Bartow, Lakeland, North I-75, North Tampa, and even Downtown Tampa, has many dead spots. it is common to roam to T-Mobile right in the middle of the city. How is that possible, GSM reception in Tampa Bay is almost non-existent.
