I've been with ATT since they came back into the cell phone business. When I got back from Afghanistan early in 2011 I noticed my cell service was worse than ever, and it never was good. I would say it definitely got even worse around May / June of 2011. ATT of course said nothing was wrong but sent me a new SIM card; not any better. I even get dropped calls in the middle of Fort Walton Beach, repeatedly At home I get one bar and often none, and there is a giant cell tower only 1 mile away. Today 17 October 2011 I get zero bars, no signal at all. Called ATT; they said I have good coverage in my area even though I'm looking right at my cell phone with no bars. Went through the whole routine of turning the phone on and off a few times, get transferred to someone else, same questions, no help. ATT really suks; but then I read these other reports and it seems like all the carriers in this area have bad service. Do we need to buy satellite phones?? I used one of those in Afghanistan and got perfect reception while standing in the middle of a desert. Heck, even my Afghan cell phone service in Afghanistan worked better than ATT in northwest Florida!
