Fantastic coverage from Sprint after new tower put up two years ago.

Had better reception when I had a PA. area code 3-5 bars... relocated phone to local area code and prefix now 0-3 bars using same local towers. AT&T says "sorry you'll just have to live with it" and since I'm under contract I guess I will.

Very happy with this Samsung C417 (the cheapest phone they offer) all the way from Ocean avenue to the flashing light on Floridana Beach., 11 miles south. Never had a dropped call, reception is clear. This phone stays charged and operable on stanby for over 4 days without a re-charge.

-110dBm is typical signal which is practically useless.

For two years we enjoyed good reception, but for the last year (starting long before the hurricanes) reception dropped to almost zero. Sprint claims that none of their towers is out of commission, but we're getting virtually no service on our four phones in exchange for $143 per month. Don't make the same mistake.

Nextel has not recovered from the hurricanes. The service in the Melbourne area and particularly on the beachside from the Eau Gallie causeway south through Melbourne Beach is terrible. After the hurricanes the two way was still relaible but that has actually degraded to being almost useless a peak times. Calls to their fabulous Customer Care describe "many towers down in Florida" as though this area was totally devistated and even if it was, it's been a month, why have things become even worse.

Reliable only when outdoors with no large buildings to the west.
