Occasionally can get 2 bars depending on wx, TOD, where in house or on top of truck, orientation of phone etc. Actively looking for a better carrier.

T-Mobile

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Downtown Miami, Miami, FL 33131 |

Actually I would agree, T-Mobile is not that bad. It had just as good reception as AT&T, the major difference I noticed though, that when in South Beach on a busy weekend, although I had 4 bars, AT&T data was almost non-existence, while voice worked fine. T-Mobile on the other hand did not have this problem. T-Mobile though has me resetting my phone, by taking out the battery, every few days, because it fails to connect to 4G even though I am in the same place all the time.

Sprint SUCKS. As soon as I step inside my house, all bets are off. Usually calls go straight to voicemail. Sometimes the phone rings, but I know if I pick up, the caller will not hear me and the call WILL DROP. I had to get a LANDLINE in my house in order to make calls from inside. Just pathetic.

AT&T

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | South Miami | 48st SW 64 Ave., Miami, FL 33155 |

Inconsistent and unreliable coverage. All AT&T phones within a mile radius have 1-2 bars at best with frequent drops, failed calls and no reception at all at times. I am a work from professional and this is really frustrating. When I travel to other cities I frequently have better service but South Miami area is very dodgy.

Hardly ever have problems. Never drops calls, maintains a strong connection, and I only ever have problems within the first floor of my house and the library at my school

Once inside South Miami Hospital reception disappears. Outside is 4G LTE. People on Sprint get service inside the hospital; however, their voice quality is terrible.

Between 4 and 5 bars all the time. even at the beach. I have never been lower than 3 bars and never have had dropped calls. Took the phone to Dominican Republic and still had a decent signal. Everybody complains that AT&T has to many dropped calls but that's not a problem for me.

I get 2 to 3 bars inside. Only drops calls in the very most interior part of building. AT&T is better, Sprint has no signal at all. I am in a 3 story building surrounded by condos on the river.

Horrible reception at Mystic Pointe. I'm in Tower 200. Barely any signal inside my apartment or anywhere in the building. Tmo and ATT have full signal though.

Barely any reception. Phone toggles from 1 bar to none and spends most of its time searching for signal. No reception while indoors. Have to walk outside to make any type of call. Everyone that comes over has the same problem with various AT&T phones.

I really hate ATT, they have the worse customer service ever. I have a 3GS that barely works at home, Douglas Ave with SW 16st, I avoid making calls from home just to have them disconnected. It os normal top have dropped calls on ATT.

I always have poor reception in my condo. Calls get dropped all the time. Phone goes from search mode to minimal bars. I've complained to AT&T several times and they always say that they'll look into it but the service never improves. Stay away from AT&T if at all possible. I'm switching as soon as my contract is up.

Sprint

2 Out of 5 (2 stars) | Downtown Miami, Miami, FL 33166 |

The connection in Downtown Miami for Sprint is horrible. I am not kidding, it is bad and this is not only happening inside the tall building where I work, outside in the street is average as well. Sprint claims their 4g is one the fastest network in the country, but that doesn't appear to be the case here in Miami. AT&T and Verizon works good. However, T-Mobile blows any carrier here in Miami in terms of speed. Data speeds are fast, (In one test it went up to 15 MB's download - Nexus One) and you can get coverage almost everywhere. The phone for Sprint is the EVO. Great phone! It's an awesome some that can compete with any other device out there. HTC is good also when it comes down to upgrade their phones. By the way, the customer service for Sprint is great. (Along with Verizon, they are the best) However, they can resolve my issue of way the network is slow around Downtown Miami. One other thing about Sprint, is the price, $99.99 Simply everything Plan. Not bad considering the unlimited use in a corporate world.

T-Mobile

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Brickell Bay Dr. | Between 8th and 9th, Miami, FL 33131 |

Apartment is at a higher level of Plaza. I get no reception in most parts of the condo, not even on the balcony. There is one spot in the whole condo where I get reception, but I cannot move the phone from that spot, or the call drops. When I actually get reception, it will drop within a matter of seconds. When connection drops, the phone will spend next 5 minutes "searching" for the network. It usually doesn't find it! If I turn off the phone, and turn it back on, then I will show 2-4 bars. But the minute I make a call, it either fails to connect, or connects then drops. Text messaging is not any better. I have had to go down to the ground floor and go outside to make calls. I've been without a home phone for years now, but am seriously considering getting one. Apparently, the mobile phone companies (at least T-Mobile) have not built out their infrastructure in Brickell area to keep up with all the new development.
